come on!! Be absolutely honest. how many of you have thrown that fleece over the top of your jimmys and done the school run?! I have many a time, in fact did it this very morning, but bit embarassing when the teacher came and asked me a question about DS and noticed the winnie the pooh sticking out the bottom of my jeans!

But Quattrocento - I always always have a shower just before bed, so apart from washing my hands and face in the mornings you could say I don't wash either. Some people shower / bath at night and some in the morning. I would still say it is unfounded that op is one of the unwashed.

Oh crikey look at the time.

My view is if it suits you do it!

Personally I don't feel right or good about myself if I don't get up showered, clean clothes and make up on before I go out. Even if I have a bath or shower at night I have a shower in the morning before I go out.

DD's are usually up about 6.45-7am so I set my alarm for 6.30am. It gives me time to hop in the shower. (They are 4 & 7mths)

DD1's nursery is a two minute walk away so not that many people would notice but I still couldn't do it.

VictorianSqualor · 08/02/2008 08:17

Same here Lomond, I dont actually have to be up for anything other than calling the doctor in quarter of an hour, but the docs may give me an appointment soonish, so I am up, kids are dressed, I am dressed, hair is done, make-up is done, all we need now is breakfast but cant have that for half an hour as DD has to have medicene and hour before food.
I'm actually bored now, but I spose I could've had an extra 45 minutes in bed and been a scruff bag at the doctors if I wanted to.

ibelieveindreaming · 08/02/2008 08:23

I have never done this as I drop dd's on my way to work. I often nip to the shop in my pj's though.

mrspnut · 08/02/2008 08:25

I'm about to get dressed but I won't bother with a shower just yet.

In my defense I am going straight to the gym after I've done the school run and will do a workout then go in the spa before showering and getting dressed.

I don't see the point in showering twice, I will however brush my teeth.

pinkyp · 08/02/2008 08:30

I took my 6month old to the drs in his pjs when he was poorley, is he mingin then? I thought i'd put his health first before how he was dressed! silly me!

Lomond · 08/02/2008 08:46

Babies are comfier in pj's pinky, think that is allowed!

pinkyp · 08/02/2008 09:36

he does look cute in his pjs x

lou33 · 08/02/2008 09:43

i was fully dressed today as i had to get out of the car

chuzzlewit · 08/02/2008 09:47

Just ploughed my way through all this.

Fair enough on the odd emergency, otherwise I agree wholeheartedly with Expat, PPH et al: lazy and slovenly or else "I'm so whacky and individual/think I'm in a Cameron Diaz movie" - or maybe a bit of both.

LostPuppy · 08/02/2008 12:37

Not unreasonable. Lazy perhaps

Gingermonkey · 08/02/2008 12:53

I do the school run in my PJs - but I don't get out of the car. And I wear my slippers....but I do make sure I have make up on and do my hair so I look perfectly groomed.....

I am incredibly lazy - sometimes I stay in said PJs all day and do the school pick up in them too. hahahahahahahahahahahaha

expatinscotland · 08/02/2008 12:57

Yeah, that's really humourous, Ginger.

About as funny as a maggot sandwich .

Gingermonkey · 08/02/2008 13:10

Yum, maggot sandwich. Delish.

boloriabullet · 17/10/2017 18:59

I give not one sh*t what people think of me when I drop my kids off in my pyjamas. I wear tasteful coat over the top and with trainers. My pyjamas aren’t obvious ones, but it is always after a night shift. The only people that can judge me are those that spend the night without the ability to go to the toilet/have a break/clean up other people’s bodily fluids/do it four nights in a row/all on approx four hour’s sleep/less in the summer.
Zero f**ks given!

PerryPerryThePlatypus · 17/10/2017 19:02

Um good for you. I doubt the OP cares though considering this thread is 9 years old.

Trb17 · 17/10/2017 19:43

Zombie thread

Trb17 · 17/10/2017 19:45

But it’s made it into the Daily Fail! Wow DM journos picking up 9 year old stories! Hilarious Grin

ForalltheSaints · 17/10/2017 19:47

It should be considered unhygienic at least, if not indecent. Any school who refused to allow someone on the premises on those grounds would have my support.

If you cannot get up in time to be ready and dressed, my other thought is whether you have had too much to drink the previous evening and should not be driving at all.

sidesplittinglol · 17/10/2017 19:49

I wouldn’t, I would be mortified if my mum dropped me to school in her PJ’s so won’t do it to my son.....plus I don’t think it looks nice. I leave at 8:30 and manage to have a shower and get dressed while DS is having his breakfast. :) each to their own though
