come on!! Be absolutely honest. how many of you have thrown that fleece over the top of your jimmys and done the school run?! I have many a time, in fact did it this very morning, but bit embarassing when the teacher came and asked me a question about DS and noticed the winnie the pooh sticking out the bottom of my jeans!

I'm with you conversebootmum and for the same reasons. It's not like anyone else notices what anyone else is wearing at that time of the morning anyway.

If you havent slept for a year, then you must have been in your day clothes non stop?! Eugh!!!!

I do work, but a night twice a week, and my older ones will not bath/shower at night, they prefer to do it mornings (teenagers and all that) I get up 6.30 as we have various animals that need tending to. I also home Educate one of mine, so I find the best time for myself is once the rest are out of the house. Otherwise I am goinjg out with wet hair and all that malarky. But if you think IABU i will take your point, which afterall is what I was asking. Not changing though........!

Was that last post for me, HaventSlept? But I wasn't the OP!
And I never said I don't bath myself or children in the evening- that's precisely what I do do (though I also slip back for a quick pre-work shower after I've got them into school). Don't know who said they never bath, but it weren't me- I smell as sweet as sweet!

oh cory, now not sure if that was for you or me. i reckon we are both very busy mums, and should be allowed to do school runnies in pj's !!

....note to self.... must remember to drive with car window down because of stink caused by pj's on for 12 hours, and also remember, NEVER to offer a lift, unless to local pig farmer.

To be honest I'd look at you and raise an eyebrow.

Why the reliance on a bath, anyway? Shower and save water, woman!

well I have 4 kids from 9 - 2, I leave the house at 7.30 for the school run and it has never in a million years crossed my mind to go in PJs

and I shower every morning

and we aren't late for school (well hardly ever)

try getting out of bed 3 minutes earlier and having a shower instead, that should solve your "busy mum" problem

Agree with PL - is minging on all levels, and just wrong. Just get up 5 minutes earlier and put some clothes on.

I also have a strong general objection to women's nightware containing anything disney/panda/bear/bunny related - but that is just me!

No dont like it either - it is a common thing in certain areas of Liverpool - people even go to Asda in the PJs at 3pm! Cant see why people cant be bothered to get dressed - I dont eel 'right' in my pjs and I certainly wouldnt step outside the house in them - even have to brush my hair as well.

Dont agree with sending kids to nursery in pjs - the nursery staff have better things to do than dress kids in the morning - a bit different if taking to your mums house though!

I have 5 dcs - one diabled - work p/t have a 45 mile school run and have never ever done it in pjs - it's bad enough when i have to do it after a 12 hour night shift, the least i do is have a quick bath/teeth and change.

There's is always 2 mins to put clothes on.

I take a bath or shower the night before, so I'm ready to rock in teh morning.

Can't you at least pull on some yoga trousers and a sweatshirt or tshirt?

I mean, it's better than jimjams.

I don't want to embarrass my kids, and I really like makeup, so I shower at night so I'll have time to put some slap on.

Not sure if I should tell but..... I have quite a reputation for being very smart etc. However sometimes I have a long black coat on, scarf, gloves and boots over my nightie!!!!! I always put lipstick on, hair clipped up and off I go. The joke is when one of the other mum's in the playground says - "You always look so glamorous!!"

I then go home, shower and dress properly.

I don't understand this too busy to get dressed business. Nobody is that busy. Look at all the people who run countries for example. They're busy and they've got clothes on. Or your children's teachers. They're busy. They were at school long before you and they're not wearing their nighties.

you seem to find this funny, converse.

i find it bizarre, i mean, the doing all these activities but not getting dressed.

on top of grown women wearing winnie the pooh pj's, but that's a whole other topic.

Blandmum · 07/02/2008 20:14

It takes me less than a minute to throw on some clothes. 5 minutes to wash, teesh brushed. 5 minutes to do hair.

If you have time to put stuff over your jimmys, why no just get dressed? [puzzled emoticon]

And the idea that nobody notices. Not noticing a grown woman in Winnie the Pooh pyjamas. One who calls them pjs even. I'd think it was a joke if there hadn't been that news story about the Belfast headmaster.

Are the pyjama wearers dressed yet by the way? Or is it still a bit early for you?

YUBVU - just one step too far for me.....

I guess it is entirely different for me as

  1. I wear nadda in bed
  2. I walk to nursery with DD

What I do admit to though is getting ready properly (wearing decent clothes and some makeup) then once I come home I often shower or change what I am wearing to do housework/slopping around and then get changed again when I am going out (sometimes just to pick up DD from nursery at the end of the day)..

Everyone dresses really smartly at DD nursery/school and I don't want to stand out (and don't want them to think I am the type of person who would wear PJs for the school run!

OMG, just read the entire thread.

Sending kids to nursery in pajamas?

Going out at 3PM in pajamas?

How slovely and disgustingly lazy and trashy have people become?

I mean, how embarrassing for your kids, sending them in their night clothes.

That's whacked.
