Transitioned females need to be housed very carefully.

Do transitioned females believe there will be never a time when they will be seen naked in communal showers? Even if there is a curtain, will it always give 100% coverage ?

I can see no way any female would feel safe in a male prison. Perhaps if they never needed to shower or go to the toilet. Yet I also understand that their body modifications could distress other women in the female population.

It is a very difficult situation to manage. But I would expect with such very low numbers, there could be some kind of safe alternative offered.

I would hate any female prisoner to be housed in accommodation where they are at such risk from male prisoners, but feel powerless to advocate for their own safety because they feel trapped by being considerate of women’s needs.

The safety transmen (natal females) will be better protected if the government makes clear that the protected characteristic of sex, means biological sex. While the government has responded to the petition, it's not responded to the substance of it. So it needs to keep going to 100,000 for a debate in Parliament

I suspect the number of LGBT activists caught out this week in either spreading misinformation or simply making statements that supported prioritising the rights of two very violent males over those of female prisoners will require those activists to step up their game.

My opinion is that if you commit an offence as man you go to a male prison. Commit an offence with a penis go to a penised peoples prison (sorry this is all tongue in cheek but couldn't resist the alliteration).

Hardly any females who identify as males (transmen) are housed in male prisons. I believe there is at least one, but the general trend is for females to be housed in female prisons regardless of gender identity, for obvious reasons. I think this is the right approach for prisons, however, in general, I think females who go to great lengths to hide their femaleness shouldn’t expect to be accommodated in female single-sex spaces. By that I mean significant use of testosterone, which is highly masculinising.

Yes transmen go as per their biological sex. That transwomen - or men who happen to say they're women upon being arrested - go to the women's tells you everything you need to know.

It's a men's sexual rights agenda. It's why Girl Guides is now mixed sex. It's why there's a push to say things like chestfeeding. It's why wards are mixed sex.

Why does this issue always centre the wants/needs of transwomen? Women are not your shields. The male estate needs to manage these vulnerable male prisoners, along with other vulnerable male prison populations.

Women should not be in prison with any male, however 'womanlike' a male prisoner: genuinely believes they are / wishes they were / is pretending to be / etc.

Women are not support people for males. Keep prisons single sex.

Putting a biologically male sex offender with a penis in a woman's prison is like sentencing a chicken killing fox to a henhouse.

Female prisoners should not be subject to the risk of rape whilst serving their sentences.
