What should I do.
I came over incredibly hot and head felt strange and nearly passed out.

Felt wonky all week but nothing serious.

It took an hour for it to pass. DH can take me will they see me now it's passed I feel scared

They'll see you if you feel you need to be seen but it's going to be a long wait, if you've felt off all week it's likely viral/under the weather. I personally wouldn't go to a&e in the absence of any particular issues and would just get an early night but then I've fainted a lot in the past.

birdling · 26/01/2023 16:46

Sounds like you were going to faint.
Not on its own necessarily anything to be concerned about.
If you are feeling better now and don't have any other symptoms it is probably best to stay at home.

Justcallmebebes · 26/01/2023 16:48

Blood sugar levels low? It's not really an accident nor an emergency to be fair

MithrilCostsMore · 26/01/2023 16:48

You nearly fainted. You don't need a&e. Something to eat and drink and you'll be fine.

ARoughRide · 26/01/2023 16:48

Just contact the GP if you are concerned, although as a one off episode they may not do much or be concerned.
No need to go to A&E. you may be able to do an EConsult or do a ‘contact us’ form online if you Google your GP surgery.

emotionalmotionsicknesss · 26/01/2023 16:49

As an isolated incident which has now passed I would absolutely not go to A&E.

FlissyPaps · 26/01/2023 16:50

Do you have any health issues?

Has this ever happened before?

You’re better off phoning 111 for advice. Not A&E, as this isn’t an accident or emergency.

Or try and make a GP appointment tomorrow, or visit a pharmacy to ask if they can check your blood pressure.

ArcticSkewer · 26/01/2023 16:50

Speak to your GP.
Or possibly wait and see if it happens again first, if you think it's just a viral thing

DeadbeatYoda · 26/01/2023 16:50

That's a call to the GP, surely.

Theunamedcat · 26/01/2023 16:51

Get a blood pressure monitor? What are your blood sugar levels

ValerieDoonican · 26/01/2023 16:52

Sounds like you nearly fainted. Its a really unpleasant sensation if so, my sympathies. But not usually dangerous, unless it keeps happening.

If it happens again try to get your head down low eg between your knees. You may be dehydrated, so have a drink.

Pixiedust1234 · 26/01/2023 16:53

Don't go to a and e. Its not an accident nor an emergency.

What you can do is
Drink more
Eat sensibly and at regular times
Contact your GP via econsult and ask for their opinion
Get a blood pressure check at a local pharmacy

Monitor yourself and keep a diary in case it happens again, eg what/when you eat, drink, sleep, exercise, excess stress etc

MuggleMe · 26/01/2023 16:54

Drink something and lie down. Make an appt with GP and ask for bloods if it carries on. Don't wait for 5+ hours in a&e. Anything particularly stressful? Been eating and drinking properly? Under the weather? Is it when you sit up or stand up or unpredictable?

FlissyPaps · 26/01/2023 16:57

Also OP, I don’t want this to come across as patronising but do you suffer from anxiety? Or going through anything stressful recently?

You could well be suffering from panic attacks. I have them myself, and no one would know I was having them. I don’t hyperventilate or show anything physical but I feel like I can’t catch my breath and feel as if I’m about to pass out. It’s not nice at all.

ShadowoftheFall · 26/01/2023 17:00

I fainted in a&e waiting with someone else. They didn’t do anything. So I don’t think they’d help after it’s all over.

Aprilx · 26/01/2023 17:01

Agree with the consensus. You do not need to go to A&E or even consult a doctor because you have fainted once.

Palomabalom · 26/01/2023 17:02

Definitely do not go to an and e with this. Just book up to see your GP. If you do go to A and e you will get triaged and you’ll be low priority and waiting hours

2bazookas · 26/01/2023 17:02

No need for an A and E visit .

Call your GP, or NHS helpline.

Tulipvase · 26/01/2023 17:04

Were you stressed at the time? A possible vasovagel type incident. I’d prob see if it happens again and then see a GP.

2023bebetter · 26/01/2023 17:05

I feel something on my left is blocked but no pain...eg something in digestion?

I also discovered a lump under my skull and pressed it and it made me feel weird. All week I've felt very slightly wobbly.

But fine. I don't want to go to a Ns e but I feel scared

OP posts:
2023bebetter · 26/01/2023 17:06

But wouldn't a e do blood what if it's something like diabetes? Scan or feel my stomach?

OP posts:
AnnieFarmer · 26/01/2023 17:06

I have low blood pressure so am prone to fainting! The last time it happened was because I had had a flu jab and was dehydrated. I felt fine shortly afterward but made sure I hydrated, ate well and didn’t exert myself for a few days. Take things easy, could be a virus but definitely rest.

Minfilia · 26/01/2023 17:07

Call 111 if you’re that worried but it sounds like a GP visit, not A&E.

Happened to me and it was a panic attack 🤷‍♀️

OopsAnotherOne · 26/01/2023 17:07

I wouldn't go to A&E as it doesn't really seem like an accident or an emergency, it sounds like you nearly fainted. There are lots of reasons for fainting, but most are minor so try not to worry yourself at this stage or you'll feel worse. Have you got a blood pressure monitor? As you've had some other symptoms as well, I'd contact your GP rather than go to A&E.

IDontCareMatthew · 26/01/2023 17:08

So you want your bloods checked?
