After your updates, it sounds like a panic attack.

Get some rest and make an appointment with your gp. Panic attacks are horrendous Flowers

This is exactly how my panic attacks happen.

OP I know you say you weren't panicking but it's not really about that. I've only had one panic attack when I was worrying - the rest have been specifically in one large shop. I think it's to do with the lighting setting something off in my brain. Afterwards I sleep for hours.

@HelloDaisy

This is something else that crossed my mind adrenaline rush/ peri menopausal.

I'm concerns whatever the lump is on my bac neck k has maybe slightly been restricted something to head all week and when I pressed it it did something more drastic!

@Vanillazebra

They asked in shop re allergies..as far as I'm aware I have none.

Sometimes allergies develop late. I developed a particular type of food allergy as an adult having had no problem with the food in question before I was around 35. At first I thought the problems were just random bugs, till one day I felt awful including feeling sick, faint and dizzy. I managed to get myself home and felt better quickly after feeling sick - presumably because I'd got rid of most of the allergen - and finally started putting two and two together about what was causing it. I've had one or two scares subsequently when I've eaten something with the allergy accidentally, and each time the reaction was slightly worse with the sudden faintness, going hot etc that you describe.

So it might just be worth including some allergy testing in your list of investigations. If you don't want to wait for the NHS I have a feeling that pharmacies can arrange it.

The lump in your neck is probably a swollen gland/lymph node.
Sounds like you’ve got something viral going on, along with some quite severe anxiety (which is very real and nothing to dismiss)

Hope you feel better soon OP, stay off google and see a GP for the anxiety.

TheShellBeach · 26/01/2023 23:33

By the way, OP, even if you are diagnosed with diabetes it is not an emergency kind of thing which needs A & E (unless you're in a coma).

People who eventually get a diagnosis of diabetes generally have it for months (if not years) before their symptoms cause them to seek medical advice.

Bpdqueen · 26/01/2023 23:48

I genuinely feel for you, you sound like me I have health anxiety and use to go to a&e far to often, the problem with this is everything is documented so you will soon find you start to be treat a certain way and you will never get taken seriously again. I think you need a gp appointment to discuss your worries and hopefully a referral to some talking therapies. I'm so sorry your going through this it really is awful x

Try and have a good nights sleep and contact 111or your GP in the morning. 111 can access GP appointment systems and book you in directly. Write all your symptoms down, starting with the ones you’re really worried about so that you don’t forget anything when you’re speaking to a clinician. There are that many viruses doing the rounds at the moment, you may have picked one of those up. I went clammy and collapsed a couple of times when I recently had Covid together with some gastro symptoms. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.
Obviously if you develop any more worsening symptoms or concerns overnight ring 111 again.

@Outfor150
I'm so sorry I thought this was a form for people to express their opinion, I didn't realise that if we didn't all have the same opinion as you we wasn't allowed to express it.

And for your information the reason I told her to go if she really doesn't feel right,is because my auntie really didn't feel right once and would not go and bother A and E and she died.
Everyone now their own body and if she doesn't feel right she's better safe than sorry, I'd rather spend a few hours making sure what was wrong than end up in a mortuary

But. Let’s flip that.
I’ve ‘not felt quite right’ a number of times (cold/flu/period/hormones/menopause/migraine/ear infection/chest infection/UTI/etc….) I am, at last check, not dead.
Let’s be reasonable, and look at balance of probabilities here. If we all went to A&E when we weren’t ‘feeling quite right’, then it would take days or weeks to be seen. Obviously, if someone is genuinely really unwell, then A&E is the place to be; people shouldn’t be martyrs about it.

OP, I really do hope you’re feeling a bit better now, and you’re getting the help and support needed. Hopefully you got to see your GP or practice nurse.
