You have had a lot of good advice on here but I will break it down for you.

  1. If you feel unwell or worse call 111 and ask their advice or
  2. if you are still concerned tomorrow then call for a gp appointment. You may not get one for a while so keep a list of symptoms.
  3. If you feel you have become worse then yes you should attend the A&E. They can advise you properly but if you attend you should wait to be seen otherwise you will not get the reassurance you need.
This is an Internet forum. We can’t see you or advise you properly without knowing all the correct information. You have to advocate for yourself and think about how you can help yourself feel better.
Perfidium · 26/01/2023 20:44

The stress of A&E could make matters worse
Ring 111 for Advice first or your GP

Ludo19 · 26/01/2023 20:48

Feel better soon OP. Stay off Google to look up symptoms it's too scary.
My left leg was giving way. Had numerous falls and then had viral labyrinthitis. Gp came and noticed I had nystagmus so I was sent for an mri they thought I had taken a mini stroke. Good shout it could be stress and low BP and your body is saying rest. Rest up and take it easy, worry is natural when it comes to our health.

OldFan · 26/01/2023 20:51

I think most docs will give people a phone appt/triage the next day, at least if the person says it's urgent. Then based on that they could have OP in for a blood pressure check or bloods or something.

OldFan · 26/01/2023 20:53

I had complete loss of balance, I have it a few times a year for an afternoon/evening.

I've had tests and it's nothing, just one of those things.

Sometimes it's stress related but other times just happens.

elfies · 26/01/2023 21:23

Could it be a diabetic low . A chemist might have tested that for you

smellyshoes81 · 26/01/2023 21:31

@2023bebetter Quite immature really.
You’ve had at least 15 people tell you not to go to A&E and now you’re saying you’re on the way!

Is she diabetic? On meds that cause lows? Otherwise thats completely nonsensical rubbish and you really shouldn't advice what you don't know....

do you understand what causes a ‘diabetic low’? it’s not being diabetic

Fingeronthebutton · 26/01/2023 21:57

It all sounds like a classic case of hypochondria. No cure for that.

DillDanding · 26/01/2023 22:00

I echo the posters suspecting health anxiety.

And as you asked if you should go to A&E, it’s only right that many have said no! It was neither an accident nor an emergency. You must know the strain these departments are under.

It's at the base of my skull where skull and be

Nxck meet.

But I also feel swollen in stomach bowels

This is a lymph node at the back of your head. They can flare up if you have an ear infection, eye infection, virus, sore throat, cold, anything like that. The ones where you describe can feel painful.

Fingeronthebutton · 26/01/2023 22:08

No, these people don’t understand what a strain A&E is under.

You have to actually be administering insulin prescribed by a specialist in order to experience 'a diabetic low' so I'm confident that this is not the case here

That’s just ridiculous. Setting a mind at ease is not the job of A and E!

MuckyPlucky · 26/01/2023 22:12

Why was the vet giving you human health advice in a pet shop?

Can't answer the bit about human health advice, but some pet store chains have in store vets.

Lou670 · 26/01/2023 22:25

If you go to A&E then they would only treat the immediate problem of why you are there in the first place. It is not to get an MOT per se. It is Accident or Emergency. I think you need to call your GP tomorrow and ask for a blood test if this would reassure you. Like many others on here I think it is health anxiety which I am not playing down as it is a problem in itself and needs to be managed. Even if you manage to get a face to face appointment with your GP then they would not be able to deal with all of your ailments that may not necessarily be connected, within a 10 minute appointment.

Longtimeuser · 26/01/2023 22:26

Hi op.

Hope you are feeling better and are managing to get some rest. I know you came here for advice and a handhold and I hope you get some real life medical advice over the next Day or so.

Last weekend I was feeling similar. Was on a girls night out and then I felt off during the night so I went back to the hotel. Felt dizzy and faint the next day, put it down to having a few drinks.

2 days later and I'm experiencing full blown flu. I think it may of been "brewing" and I had funny aches and pains, vomiting, a rash, cough etc and was seen by my GP today. There are so many weird and not so wonderful viruses and bugs doing the rounds. While I don't wish any discomfort, I'm sure a flu would be more favourable than the outcome you may have imagined. Just a thought.

Wishing you a speedy recovery and good health

TheShellBeach · 26/01/2023 22:32

I'm sorry you're feeling unwell and anxious, OP.

I promise you that there isn't anything you can press in the back of your neck which would cause the symptoms you've described.

Rest in bed until you feel better. Arrange a telephone consultation with your practice nurse or doctor. If they think you need any blood tests, etc., they will ask you to come into the surgery.

I hope you feel better soon.

Copperoliverbear · 26/01/2023 22:35

@Outfor150
I'm so sorry I thought this was a form for people to express their opinion, I didn't realise that if we didn't all have the same opinion as you we wasn't allowed to express it.

And for your information the reason I told her to go if she really doesn't feel right,is because my auntie really didn't feel right once and would not go and bother A and E and she died.
Everyone now their own body and if she doesn't feel right she's better safe than sorry, I'd rather spend a few hours making sure what was wrong than end up in a mortuary

You are both wrong and shouldn't be giving your inexperienced views.
I'm diabetic .

HitTheRoadJackAndDontYouComeBack · 26/01/2023 22:38

Princesspollyyy · 26/01/2023 19:44

So you've:

  1. Felt 'wonky' all week
  2. Nearly passed out (but didn't)
  3. knee feels not right
  4. you think you may be diabetic
  5. you think you have low BP
  6. you think your digestive system may be blocked
  7. your lower back isn't right
  8. Lump on head

That's a lot of things OP. I'm pretty sure we could all sit down and list our aches and pains and try putting them together. I know I could.

I agree with PP that your GP would have seen you if they thought it was anything serious.

Spot on. It's not a culmination of those causing your faintness. Think you need to seek help for your belated anxiety.
