Am I being unreasonable to think that the above thread should be right here, in AIBU, rather than tucked away in the Feminism board? Reason - because a woman doesn't need to be a feminist to be affected by this issue.

We need to be shouting it from the roof tops. 6 months ago my non plussed dh thought that his feminist wife was just nit picking/ over reacting often bringing up the shitshow of the trans movement and the eradication of women's rights. Now he's sending me stories and we're both out raged. We need everybody on board with this. We need to keep ourselves and our children safe.

This might be a good time to mention that there is a petition to ask the government to amend the Equality Act 2010 to make clear that the characteristic "sex" means biological sex. It is easy to find using Google.

There are almost 74,000 signatures at the moment. 100,000 signatures are required to force the government to consider debating this in parliament. We need that debate as, at the moment, all political parties are either captured by Trans ideology or running scared. Women's safety and dignity is at the bottom of their priorities and we need to change that.

Women must protest. This affects all of us and it is becoming clear that the thing that never happens is actually happening at an increasing rate. There is no justification in putting any man, however he identifies , in a womens prison. He will be a danger to them and the female staff who have to search home etc. just another chance for him to get off on intimidating women. And yes this and more should be in AIBU. It is upsetting, but we all need to know the reality of what is happening already in the Uk.

Theres an absolute difference between sex and gender which the trans community seem happy to agree with.

Single sex means just that. Gender neutral is also what it says. Female prisons aren’t gender neutral.
I’m sure the accused will say that women attack other women so them being there is fine. I want to see a trans man get sent to male prison just to see how that goes down. Then maybe sex rather than gender will go back to be the defining separation for the appropriate circumstances - if only to keep the cost of isolating trans prisoners “ for their own safety” and in effect keeping them single sex .

This case isn’t just a feminist issue, it’s a whole society issue.

How a man... a rapist. A multiple rapist. A violent repulsive human being can get away with this absolute pantomime and be treated seriously in a British court of law is one of the most dystopian and scary things for women and people who care about women. When is anyone going to put a stop to the insanity?

And who is going to be the lucky lady in the female prison locked up with that horror? I’m seriously praying for them.
