And I bloody love the horrified reactions more than the delighted ones:
What???
Oh my god that's a mouthful isn't it?
Is that a name? Oh, I'd call him 'xxx'
It's not even that out there, I think people are just rude, but it cracks me up
AIBU?
We named our baby a marmite name

I always thought my DC would have names with "character". Not boring popular names. Then when I was pregnant I realised it was not about ME, and cool and cultured I am to have chosen such interesting names.
It's about my DC. So they have sensible names, and they're free to change it to whatever crazy thing they want if they are that way inclined. It's their names, not mine.

Me too. No idea why people have to be such twats 🤷🏼♀️

Will he ‘love the horrified reactions’?
Would you be happy to have been given a marmite name?
This...

If you aren't going to say, don't bother putting a post up

I wish my parents had been as considerate as you.
No one really wants to stand out as child.
I cringed every time the teacher would do the register.

I didn't realise it would be marmite until we'd named him tbh. I've posted enough info on here that I could easily be recognised if I share the name. Should have name changed really and put his name in the OP but didn't realise people would be so bothered 🙄

Interesting that you’re apparently brave enough to give your kid a “marmite” name but you’re not brave enough to write it on an anonymous forum….
