Worried about war

I'm so frightened right now. Do we all think we're heading into WW3. If we send tanks it escalates, if we don't it would spread anyway. Can anyone calm me in anyway. I'm really scared. Help....please.

Don‘t worry about that. We have to send everything we can and get Russia out of Ukraine. I‘d prefer even to send NATO troops to the front line, get proper modern aircraft in their airspace and make it happen quickly.

Russia wouldn’t last a month, and if they tried to attack us their useless unmaintained equipment would fail.

And if they tried anything nuclear they would be f*cked. By the entire rest of the world. But even most of their nukes will fail - they need a lot of TLC and they haven’t been doing it, the chances of them actually going off is pretty low.

agree, and if it is propaganda as I think you’re suggesting, we need to be clear that they’re doing it because they’re frightened of what conflict with modern Western forces would mean. It would go terribly for Russia.

Yes, you are right in every respect. There are a couple of very active posters who keep popping up with this sort of irrational nonsense and get very aggro when someone challenges them.

If it “turns nuclear” you will be the first to know and you really will not care as you’ll be dead!

There’s been quite a few posts, and similarly worded ones at that, about this recently.

maybe we will go to war, probably not imminently but at some point. But you worrying about it won’t change that outcome. It will just make you less happy. Accept that you are powerless and enjoy what you have, because on the very off chance you get nuked next week you don’t want to have spent your last days fretting.

No I'm the opposite. I worry so much I'm always grateful for people who talk sense into me.

<Shrugs>. We've lived under the shadow of nukes for over 60 years now. If/when it does all kick off it will probably be due to some kind of misunderstanding or error, and will all be over pretty quickly.
I refuse to let some grumpy old man who is losing his grip cause me to live in fear.
I was where you are now a year ago but I'm over it now.
More dangerous for us if Ukraine loses, TBH.

There is a fantastic and level headed thread in Chat about Ukraine that is about 37 threads deep now... it had been going on that long.
When you post a written panic attack in AIBU, you set other people off. That is not fair. It has a domino effect, and then we see multiple threads about being nuked to dust, in one day.
