To think that a man standing outside a school in girls uniform is not OK?

crinklemum2 · 20/01/2023 08:35

Name changed as this is very local and he was seen wearing my DD's school uniform.

A local school uniform shop shared images to reassure parents they would not be selling him any items. Essex police say he poses no risk and people should stop sharing the photos. He looks to be late 50s/early 60s.

He's been seen around schools - both primary and secondary - dressed as a school girl (in their uniform). I am fucking outraged that the police don't seem to think that's an issue. God forbid we offend men or shame their fetishes.

AIBU that this must be an antisocial behaviour at the very least?

'this man is a peadophile, or this man has mental problems.'

He's compos mentis enough to lie about who the uniform is for. I'd say that only leaves option one.

And take photos of him, as it appears that he is taking photos of the children.

Lots of photos.

Isn’t taking photos of other peoples children enough for the police to take action ?

Testina · 20/01/2023 10:29

I can absolutely understand that the police powers here fall short of what some of us would like.

But I’m outraged that the police are saying that he does not pose a risk.

They can’t know that - so why the hell are they saying it?!!!!

And as others here have said - he’s already making children uncomfortable.

I have teen daughters who would be so angry if this happened at their school / on their bus. And frankly I live in an area where he’d only try it once. The gentlest thing that would happen would be some parents accompanying him home, sending him in to change, then taking the uniforms off him.

Icantstopeatinglol · 20/01/2023 10:29

Wearing girls school uniform as a man is weird enough but to be stood outside a school is an absolute piss take and there’s no way I’d be letting my child have to put up with that! Even if it meant as others said a bunch of parents standing there too staring at him making him feel uncomfortable then so be it. Absolute joke this country at times. What the absolute fuck is wrong with people!! He’s an absolute risk to those kids.

Spambod · 20/01/2023 10:29

It’s antisocial behaviour and a child safeguarding issue. The police should and can give him an anti harassment order so he is not allowed in the vicinity of primary schools. Part of the thrill for this man is being seen and people’s reactions. The police have the powers but they are so in thrall to men in dresses these days and where women and girls are the victims I think we all know where the police stand on that…..

Maybe one of the local dads could have a word with him?

This is what I was thinking. I am sure a few would be happy to have a chat with him...

Some of the replies on this thread 🤦🏻‍♀️

How have we got to this point? So fucking depressing.

Could he be a dad who is trying to make his daughter laugh?!? Like why have you gone straight for sexual perv and fetish?!?

Don't be so naive!

This. In spades.

Most of us agree this is disgusting, does anyone know what we can do? If Essex police won’t do anything can we take it further? I’d be horrified if this was near my 11 year olds school, we need to support this community and get it stopped so we know how to do it if it happens in our own.

Sadly, we cannot trust the police any longer, they priories protecting TQ+. Looks like lots of cops are violent misogynists.

The police will only deal with this when a group of angry dads and granddads start following this obscene creep around. The worst part is that this story will soon be reported in the news and young kids up and down the country have to read or hear about what this vexatious pervert is doing. He must be getting such a kick out of this.

BlackForestCake · 20/01/2023 10:32

🤔
Hands up everyone who would have found it funny if your dad had turned up outside your school wearing a girl’s uniform.

HRTQueen · 20/01/2023 10:32

I don’t want it left to one of the dads I want the police to do their job in protecting children

HRTQueen · 20/01/2023 10:34

And hands up who would be comfortable their child being around a friends dad who found it funny to dress up as a school girl and wait outside the school gate as a joke

Oh come on. If my stepdad had done that, we’d have looked into having him sectioned.
I appreciate the devil’s advocate standpoint but this situation is cut and dried.

Fairylightsandstuff · 20/01/2023 10:34

Why haven’t any of the dads said anything? My dh would have got rid of him on the first day, without having to resort to violence but if he had to he would!

FOJN · 20/01/2023 10:35

‘We would like to remind the police that we parents don’t give a shit about the detriment of men harming our kids’

Careful, you could get a visit from the police....

Problem is they'd probably be arrested for harassment or threatening behaviour. They could just be present in the vicinity though - just as the man in girl's uniform is.

Geez, the things young girls have to put up with - very intimidating if you're the only one around, say your pals get off the stop before you.

Yes it is. It doesn't matter if the police think he poses no physical risk. He's making children uncomfortable and he's impersonating a school girl.

His fetish belongs in the bedroom, not forced onto children.

Namechangedforthisonetoday · 20/01/2023 09:49

Tbf, that woman you are referring to is a witch who has upset and distressed a lot of women with her behaviour. But yes I agree with you, it’s a bloody joke.

If I remember correctly, I believe the local authority had put in place an exclusion zone with certain conditions which is why the Police got involved with that one.

gogohmm · 20/01/2023 10:36

The issue is though, what offence has he committed. Creepy isn't an offence unfortunately! He's not wearing clothes that are revealing, he's not acting in an overt sexual manner, you can see the issue the police have - all they can do is keep an eye on him.

Frosty1000 · 20/01/2023 10:37

This would make me feel very uncomfortable - don't care for his clothing choice but it's where he's standing and his intentions that are a red flag.

Raise with head and they need to act to safeguard the children as they arrive/leave as some may not be picked up by an adult if they're old enough not to be.

We had similar at our as school, although not the attire and one of the SLT stood outside each day to ensure they didn't come back. It's not happened since.

lovescats3 · 20/01/2023 10:15

Are you sure that the police have been informed that he's outside the school?

Yes. As they have spoken to him and ascertained that his is "safe"
