To be annoyed and angry with DH

on a 2 night trip to London with DH and the kids. Our first day here. We’re still out now. Since it went dark earlier this evening DH has not stopped saying “we need to go back to the hotel”, “it’s too dark”, “it’s not safe” and so on. I’ve told him to stop and he won’t. Aibu to be angry and annoyed with him? We’re on our way back to the hotel now but earlier I had to keep explaining to him for hours that just because it’s dark we don’t have to go straight back to the hotel. He’s been making the same comments for hours and hours since it went dark

Never have I ever had to dodge people fighting or being thrown out of bars in the West End or Islington, or Brixton or Kensington or any of the other boroughs I’ve lived in.

You know what, Lord, I'm the same. Open a thread to read then before I know it I'm sucked in and a whole bloody afternoon's gone by! It's not even our bloody issue! Didn't mean to offend with the homeless article, I worked with offenders and addicts for a long time, I really am quite empathetic towards them. Just irritated me that people were making out there aren't drug misuse issues in Central London on the streets.

The vast majority of London 12 year olds make their own way home from school in the dark at this time of the year. If they can do it so can a grown man.

The OP eldest child is 12. She has been a mother for over a decade. I really think most parents know what their children can and cannot handle. Two days out of routine on holiday is not going to cause any ill effects to the children, in fact the younger children probably loved the fun and excitement of being out at night and feeling grown up.

A break from routine is enjoyable for everyone in the family. That's why it's holiday.

Need a routine? With never a single night off? Bet you're fun at parties.
