To be annoyed and angry with DH

Topoftheworldtonight · 13/01/2023 22:28

on a 2 night trip to London with DH and the kids. Our first day here. We’re still out now. Since it went dark earlier this evening DH has not stopped saying “we need to go back to the hotel”, “it’s too dark”, “it’s not safe” and so on. I’ve told him to stop and he won’t. Aibu to be angry and annoyed with him? We’re on our way back to the hotel now but earlier I had to keep explaining to him for hours that just because it’s dark we don’t have to go straight back to the hotel. He’s been making the same comments for hours and hours since it went dark

Bloody hell, @LordSugarTits you and your family HAVE been unlucky in London!

Never have I ever had to dodge people fighting or being thrown out of bars in the West End or Islington, or Brixton or Kensington or any of the other boroughs I’ve lived in.

So I still can’t say your terrified version of our capital matches mine. And you seem a little … overwrought by this thread.

Pmsl. Terrified? Nah mate, not in the slightest. You're right though, I've got way too invested in this thread 😅. Im just fucking bored. Is it February yet?

Are you in a specific area? Sounds like he doesn't want to be seen by someone or is avoiding being seen.

Ah Mumsnet. He's not just an asshole, he's an asshole having an affair.

Damn, forgot to get my MN bingo card ready! 😂

I think that poster admitted to coming round from anaesthetic as she wrote that.

You know what, Lord, I'm the same. Open a thread to read then before I know it I'm sucked in and a whole bloody afternoon's gone by! It's not even our bloody issue! So, in that spirit, no hard feelings and I'm now drinking wine as I cook dinner. Suggest everyone does the same and chills out. Cheers!

LordSugarTits · 14/01/2023 18:30

I don't even know why I got sucked in tbh. I'm next in London in Feb so I'll be scouring the South Bank for crackheads now 🙈🤣

I'll report back with how many fist fights I come across.

Didn't mean to offend with the homeless article, I worked with offenders and addicts for a long time, I really am quite empathetic towards them. Just irritated me that people were making out there aren't drug misuse issues in Central London on the streets.

I stand by the kings cross skanks because that is what they were. When a pissed up bloke smacks another while several of their stinking piss head mates watch on as I pass with my children, I'm going to call them skanks.

You got close enough to smell them? That is weird.

All good, don't worry. I wouldn't look around the Southbank, though. Head for Westminster and the House of Commons – that's where all the coke heads are!

LordSugarTits · 14/01/2023 18:35

Couldn't really avoid the fuckers, strong whiff of special brew as I dragged the kids past (yes dragged)

🤣🤣 so true

londonmummy1966 · 14/01/2023 18:43

The vast majority of London 12 year olds make their own way home from school in the dark at this time of the year. If they can do it so can a grown man.

gannett · 14/01/2023 12:14

Until you're getting grabbed by some spice head who are all over the place in central London. Or caught up in the fights that happen every night. Or pickpocketed by the skanks that hang round Piccadilly and Kings Cross.

OMG people actually think London is like this. I am howling with laughter. How have I lived here for 20 years without being grabbed by a spice head or caught up in a fight or pickpocketed by a "skank" in two of the tamest parts of the city.

🤣you survived in the terrifying Mumsnet DARK? It's a miracle!😄

You sound deranged, moreso with every post.

You really need to learn to stop dragging your kids, it's wholly inappropriate and you need to teach them and you to just walk. Why do they need dragging?

Well atop dragging them and teach them?

Honestly, lazy children are going to be lazy teens and adults.

LordSugarTits · 14/01/2023 21:03

Calm down @dogdaydown I'm only joking ffs 😆

Are you always so uptight?

No not at all uptight, are you always so rude and dramatic? Does it cause you issues in RL?

And your point is? They're on a mini holiday. One late night isn't going to hurt.

At that age, they still get tired and need a routine?

The OP eldest child is 12. She has been a mother for over a decade. I really think most parents know what their children can and cannot handle. Two days out of routine on holiday is not going to cause any ill effects to the children, in fact the younger children probably loved the fun and excitement of being out at night and feeling grown up.

A break from routine is enjoyable for everyone in the family. That's why it's holiday.

cariadghost · 14/01/2023 22:18

Need a routine? With never a single night off? Bet you're fun at parties.
