I know I am AIBU, but whenever child-free ppl complain about being tired I get annoyed, barring medical/health issues

This is just a secret confession here, in the anonymity of the internet, and I hope I have enough social skills to disguise my true feelings. Which is of extreme annoyance when child-free people complain about being tired (given there are no aggravating health concerns). (In my social circle at least, people complain about being tired and busy all the time).

The tiredness that comes with managing kids - especially more than one, and especially for lone/single parents of which there seems to be more and more- is just on a different level. Needed to get that off my chest.

@userxx absolutely because at some point I'd get a day off and on that day off work I could, if I chose lie on the sofa all day go to bed early and recover. I wasn't responsible for the survival of tiny humans during that time and I could genuinely relax and recover. There have been times with young kids where I have gone weeks with almost no sleep until I finally got that 5 hour sleep that made me feel briefly human and then it started over again. I'm not saying that this is everyone's experience and I don't get annoyed if people without caring responsibilities tell me they're tired but for me having v young kids was the most tired I had ever been in my life.

Anyone is allowed to be tired. Anyone, and for whatever reason. Write it out 1000 times if you need to.

I'm child free. My children are adults.

I've health issues that mean I don't get a solid night's sleep. Ever.

Why should I have to disclose that before I'm allowed to say I'm tired?

Indeed! No one has a monopoly on being tired. OP let's hope you got a good nights sleep for all our sakes.
I am tired this morning but am up and ready for the day. Sorry if that pisses you off. Actually I hope it does...

I'm not child free, but I don't have small children.im 49 and feel more tired than I can ever remember being...I'm putting it down to perimenopause and a snoring husband. It's not a competition though so whenever someone tells me they are feel exhausted I give them the bit of sympathy that they are perhaps after.
