To think most people have *not* tried cocaine?

On another thread, a poster states that 'most people have at least tried cocaine'.

I haven't, and family haven't. However, on threads about drugs there always seems to be a clear divide - either people haven't taken them, or everyone they know has.

So, for a very unscientific survey:

YABU - I have tried cocaine
YANBU - I have not tried cocaine

YANBU. I have never tried drugs. I know plenty of people who haven't and very few that have.

Twice in my life. It was wonderful, but because it’s such an ethical disaster zone in so many ways I’ve never done so again.

We're a very mixed bag.
I've never tried it (don't want to) but DH has a few times and I know loads of people who have or still do use it. I also know loads of people who've never been near it

I've never tried any drug of any kind bar alcohol or ciggies. My husband has definitely experimented far more than I have, and said he tried it once and didn't like it. It's just never been of any interest to me whatsoever. Not sure about my two oldest friends. One probably the other not so sure.

In my early 20s I snorted it at work in more than 1 workplace.

Not proud of it.

Which I'd had a more stable youth.

Never tried it. All my friends in my Uni days were potheads. Someone lovingly grew it in their spare room and so we knew where it was coming from and exactly what it was. The thing with most drugs like coke is you just don’t know what’s in it and that scares the crap out of me.

DH tried it once when living abroad and partying. It made him all cross he said and he just sulked in the corner of the club until it wore off.

I’ve been offered every drug under the sun. It’s always a no. I’ve never taken any drugs and never smoked a cigarette even as an experiment.
I do drink though, which is my drug and can make me talk a lot 😳

I haven't and no one I know has ever admitted to it either.

Hash yes snd I know some who've tried LSD and ecstasy. But not cocaine.

I haven’t, but nobody is ever going to truly know. Not everyone will admit to it in certain company, some are ashamed of their past, and on the other hand, some people will also say they have even if they haven’t because they’re surrounded by people saying they have and don’t want to be the outlier in the group.

I had some ''Good'' cocaine many years ago.
It was definitely pleasant, energising, but lasted such a very short time, half hour if that.

Yes, on occasion, but my gang were more into whizz & 'shrooms, tbh.

We are all terribly respectable now we are in our 50s. Think the drugginess just gradually petered out in our early 30s - we mostly became parents around then, so it simply became impractical.

Just the once. It was nice. A bit too nice. I can see how it’s easy to go back for more. I never did because I don’t want to take any further steps down that path.

Never tried cocaine. Never wanted to. I observed enough to know that I never wanted to be that person (cue Lee Evans’ ‘talking shit, talking shit, talking shit’ sketch).
Tried marijuana a bit in my 20s (really hated it but did it because of a boyfriend’s recreational habit).
Dropped acid once (also in my 20s). Shiver me timbers. Never again! 😱

Have never tried it and never want to. Same for DH. Don’t know anyone who has openly admitted to trying it, i wouldn’t know where to even start to look if I did change my mind one day.

I think it depends where you are in the country and what industry you work in. But personally I have more friends who did it a lot in theirs 20s and 30s than friends who have never even smoked a cigarette.

I have tried it once. My ex had a bit of a habit and I once tried a tiny but to see what the obsession was. It was shit.
