Drinking Water

To not be able to understand people that don't drink mineral water.
To be put off by those that drink other things. Excluding coffee/ tea alcohol sometimes.

Why would you find that difficult though? Like what specifically would you find difficult about something that doesn’t actually impact you?
You drink coke so you’re hardly the beacon of health.
Why would you even know what a friend or romantic partner was drinking all day? How would it actually impact your relationship? When your spouse got home from work you would have literally no way of knowing if they only drank fruit juice, milk, tea or water all day long.

You would soon find out once you got to know someone.

I hate fruit juice so I find it difficult to be compatible with those that drink it.
Am I weird that I want to be friends/ date someone that also only likes mineral water and never mixes it?

Well I couldn't have a relationship with someone that judges me for not drinking only water 🤔

We have about the best water anywhere in the world, if you dont like the tast filter it, but why buy mineral water that doesn't need to pass the same standards as tap water has to?

Anyone remember benzene in Perrier?!

Georgeskitchen · 09/01/2023 21:43

My best friend drinks vodka which I hate but we are still best friends!!

I drink gallons of Vimto. You’d hate me.

Will you be my friend? I love Vimto still or fizzy

What about tap water?

You can't drink ours...it stinks of chemicals.🤮

Aquarius1234 · 09/01/2023 21:48

It's great when your on the same page as someone. Food and drink.
Most couples I know eat the same dinner together and Same drinks .
Unless alcohol which could be different sometimes.
If I didn't like any of the same food as a potential partner it could be awkward. So drinks are the same in a way.

@Aquarius1234 it was unusual enough with the drinks, but now you're saying it would be 'awkward' if a partner liked different food?! I don't understand what would be awkward about it, genuinely. Could you try explaining what you mean?

Not quite the same as strong smelling fruit juices all day long. Or very sugary ones that others that are healthy avoid.

I meant complete opposite like vegan and meat eater.
Or someone preferring mainly spicy foods and the other plain only.
Not saying it couldn't work. Just may not gel. Dining out etc

This site does attract its far share of the chronically bewildered.

I understand meals to an extent as it generally takes effort to cook, cooking two different meals a day would become annoying or the other option to eat the same as your partner when you’re not keen on the food would also grate after a while. But drinks wouldn’t matter to me, it is almost no extra effort to pour someone a juice or coke while you get yourself a tap water or to get two tap waters and add squash to just one. I don’t see how it would become an issue.

Yes - very weird

I Drink
Water
Wine
Tea

But I do see your point @Aquarius1234 . My DP drinks juice and something about it makes my stomach churn. Our kids only drink water (until they hit around 12 and suddenly it's everything else)

Yes its just makes me want to move a way slightly.

I'm sure you don't do that though..

Oh I drink hot chocolate.
But no one had ever been icky or put off by that.

WonderingWanda · 09/01/2023 22:05

I couldn't give a shit what other people drink throughout the day as long as they don't make me drink it. I find it odd that you would find what someone drinks a barrier to a close personally relationship? I could understand smoking or poor hygiene but not really drinking fruit juice.

AnuSTart · 09/01/2023 22:06

@Aquarius1234 funnily enough I do. And I make that awful facial expression like I'm sucking a lemon while shaking my head.
