Drinking Water

To not be able to understand people that don't drink mineral water.
To be put off by those that drink other things. Excluding coffee/ tea alcohol sometimes.

I generally mean I don't understand people that don't drink tap water on a regular basis.
Yes you can drink other drinks. But to not drink tap water with means I find weird.

Ok slightly less weird. I'd find it difficult to have a close relationship with someone that hardly drank water and instead drank fruit juices throughout the day.

Why would you find that difficult though? Like what specifically would you find difficult about something that doesn’t actually impact you?
You drink coke so you’re hardly the beacon of health.
Why would you even know what a friend or romantic partner was drinking all day? How would it actually impact your relationship? When your spouse got home from work you would have literally no way of knowing if they only drank fruit juice, milk, tea or water all day long.

I don’t understand anyone who drinks bottled mineral water. They must have money to burn.

I don't like water out the tap at work.

It’s important to pair your drink with your food, as important as selecting the correct kind of chips.

Yes, that’s pretty weird.
Not wanting to be friends / date someone who likes a bit too much (hic!) to drink is fine, but to choose based on their choice of non-alcoholic beverage is more than a little OTT!

Does anyone understand about having a preference when having a close relationship or even close friendship.
Eg it's nice when you both drink the same things.
Are you allowed to be put off by someone drinking something you dislike ...
Some drinks smell bad to me. I have a strong sense of smell.

It’s really not a normal preference.

Dude you drink coke and you’re complaining you couldn’t like someone who drank fruit juice. There’s literally no logic in that.

Honestly, yes. That is weird. I only regularly drink tea, coffee, water and wine but I wouldn’t waste one shiny second thinking about what others choose to drink and I certainly wouldn’t use it as a way to screen out potential friends.

You are single i assume? My dp drinks sugar free squash by the gallon. I detest it and I don't drink water or tea either. This has zero effect on our 10 year relationship

I don’t know …. You may stay forever single and without friends with this approach, I never met anyone who only drink water.

@StrawHatOnTheParcelShelf that's an odd way of thinking about drinks. Do you feel the same about food? Eating anything but salad is a waste of money and you will "stack on" weight? 😁
People have different tastes OP, I find some things awful that others are fond of. More of the things I like for me. Doesn't make me think any less of people. That's not a normal reaction I dont think.

I do generally think about the nutritional value of what I eat, yes. Is that what you mean? I definitely wouldn't eat a bowl of sugar with cola flavouring, so why would I drink it?
