Why are some people on here so horrible?

has anyone else noticed an increase in certain posters who consistently comment with horrible, insulting and deliberately unhelpful things?

im not talking about posts where the OP can’t accept the truth, or where they don’t like to be told they are being unreasonable. I’m talking about certain commenters consistently posting horrible comments. You can recognise it by their username in some cases.

does MN deal with them? There’s several posters I can think of off the top of my head who are horrible everytime they comment, and half the time their comments end up being deleted for being horrible. Maybe it’s just me but I’ve definitely noticed an increase in it recently.

What didn’t BIWI read properly? If you can’t say it then didn’t happen.

Well I did say it, and it did happen, sorry about that - black and white typeface down below. Have a look, it's the posts where she says she doesn't understand. Then you need to apologise in just the right way for not reading the thread properly or I'll bombard you with dozens of silly posts . Sound familiar? Wink

Or you could let biwi speak for herself. I think you've posted about this more than anyone has and taken more offence. Shock

I always get the impression they wouldn’t dare to be like this in real life, to peoples faces and I also get the impression they don’t have any real friends.

Agree with you op. I first joined Mumsnet 12 years ago, it was always <ahem> robust, but needling antagonism, or being deliberately obtuse just so you can derail or make op feel bad was much more rare. It wasn't as unusual to get a thread that was hilarious and had you snorting your tea too.
Really funny threads are few and far between now, there are some brilliant posters and excellent advice to be had, and are why I stay, but there are more people doing aggro for it's own sake too imo.
But it's got bigger so I suppose it's part of that, it's still better than many internet places.

So Sugar asked what TAAT means at 14.21 and BIWI responded at 14.23. Your insistence that this means BIWI didn’t read the thread properly is frankly bizarre and cringeworthy and I’m embarrassed for you.
