My 15 year old is revising.

My 10 year old is vacuuming her bedroom.

My 9 year old is making New Years Day cards for the neighbours. (Don't ask!)

I'm sat on the sofa eating custard and cake. 😁

DH is at the gym.
DD is staggering around in her PJs tidying her room.
I am trying to put clean bedding on our bed while fending off fluffy cats.

I'm sat on the sofa doing not much - listening to the rain on the conservatory roof and feeling all snug!

DS 13 is in his room conquering the galaxy - he's popping downstairs every now and then to update me on his progress.

DH is in the kitchen making sushi, using the sushi bazooka he was given for Christmas.

We are all dossing about in pyjamas. DC are watching maleficent, that i recorded yesterday, on the settee with a blanket and grazing on left over xmas chocs.... they are actually snuggled up and being kind to each other which is very cute as usually they're squabbling. I am looking at houses i can't afford on right move on the armchair :) we have the fire on. I actually can't be bothered to get dressed and would be content to do this all day :)

We lied in until 11. Youngest dc on ps, oldest dc in bedroom chilling, middle dc still in bed between worlds. Just made brunch for me and dp, both now lounging watching rubbish tv.

3 teens still in bed. Sorting laundry in pj's with bit of a hangover. DH at laundrette (machine broke just before Christmas 😭)

Holding my bottom 2 front teeth in (temporary denture) after gluing them with arildite. Got an intently interested audience of 2 tiny dogs. Tumble dryer & dishwasher are all busy, unlike my teenage sons who are still in bed.

My FWB is coming over tonight, he's a childless, part time working, tiny-flat dwelling, clean freak. I'm a lone parent, in a big house who works 50 hour weeks & my cleaner resigned end of Nov. I'm going to be spending the next 5 hours scrubbing (but I'll feel better when it's done). And yes, I WILL be hoiking the teens out of bed to help.

Teeth are set! Back to the scrubbing 😭

Dh just got up from a nap having walked the dogs earlier this morning in the rain. DS packing up his stuff to go back to his flat to celebrate NYE with his mates this evening. DD was out early to meet up with her friends and organise their evening celebrations. I’m still in PJs MN and looking a buying a new lipstick and drinking tea. Have in my defence I’ve loaded the dishwasher,put a clothes wash on and emptied all the bins.

DH is emptying the dishwasher. I'm looking at the racing tips for tomorrow. DD is in the shower. Other DD is at work. Going to sit down and work on my goals for next year in a bit. Planning a nice nap after lunch to prepare for a night out with friend tonight. I'm driving so won't be drinking but it will be a late one.

DD is sleeping (recovering from Covid - she gets up early one day, then needs to sleep till lunchtime the next, especially if we've had a busy day).

DH is doing something on his laptop next to me on the couch.

I'm pottering about on my phone and we're both drinking coffee and still in PJs. I'm thinking I really should go for a shower in a minute.

One cat is chilling in his bed, the other is chilling between us on the couch, both are awake.

I made Kirstie Allsopps Christmas (profiterole) wreath, looked at it about tens mins in through glass on oven and thought I’d messed it up. Went back thirty mins later and it’s MASSIVE. Was worried it’d feed four, probably feed fourteen! 🤣❤️🤣

In bed, booking a holiday for next October.

My eldest is putting their Xmas gifts away.
Next child is chilling in their room.
Pretty sure my youngest is still in bed!
Husband is on his iPad.
I'm drifting between here and cooking a roast.

We've taken down the xmas decs this morning, had a hood hoover round and also taken child 2 for a haircut. Off to see my parents later.

4yo DD is watching a film with DH/jumping up and down on his stomach (only just turned 4 so can’t sit through a film yet loves to watch them 🤦🏻‍♀️).

1.5yo DD is upstairs napping.

I’m cleaning the kitchen while dreamily reading these posts and imagining a time when we too will be in our pjs while our children entertain themselves.

I've just washed my hair and I'm sitting on the sofa watching TV, my hubby is pottering about upstairs, and the dog has gone back to bed!

Sitting on the sofa trying to motivate myself to walk to the corner shop to buy junk food. DH has taken DS(4) and DS(2) to the playground. We were all going to go, but DS4 was so horrible to me he made me cry so I didn't want to go anymore. He's struggling with Christmas being over and is a sensitive kid at the best of times, but he has now singled me out as the sole recipient of his rage and it's starting to seriously get to me ☹️

I’m still lounging in bed scrolling the internet inbetween chapters of my book and I’ve no plans to get up any time soon. I don’t live with anybody else so hopefully nothing else is happening in the house.

I have no idea as I am over 6000km away, sitting on a balcony about to watch another beautiful, tropical sunset.
I suspect there will be a few new cobwebs to remove on my return and I know that I forgot to empty the spent grounds in the coffee machine, so they will have gone disgustingly moldy. That will be one of my first jobs on Tuesday morning followed by giving the machine a good clean.
However this evening we are having a New Year's Eve buffet followed by some form of entertainment and fireworks. I just hope the food is edible.

15yr old DD is getting ready for a sleepover with her four mates who are lovely young men. They're going to cook a three course meal and play board games I think. I'm driving her over to the host's this afternoon.

11yr old DS is cleaning the bathroom.

40yr old DH is asleep (nights).

I'm sitting and browsing MN after putting together some of my oo gauge trains for a test drive but am about to do a workout. It's also my birthday but am largely ignoring this fact.

I'm in bed drinking tea that partner brought to me.
He's roaming around in his dressing gown having a look through his Christmas presents.
He wants to play the Friends trivial pursuit game now. I want to stay in bed on mumsnet.

Ds 4yo is sitting next to me whining that he's bored despite being surrounded by toys
Ds 3yo is playing on the floor with trains
I'm sat on the sofa cuddling sleeping 6 week old and obsessively refreshing the website for the full softplay to see when they reopen for admissions (no pre-booking option) so we can get the kids out the house

DS and his girlifriend are getting ready to travel to her home to celebrate NYE.

DH is fiddling with my motorcycle helmet, fitting a communication device.

I am having a nice cuppa, enjoying a turkey sandwich, shared with the dog who is curled up with me on the sofa.

I've just had breakfast. Been for a run in the rain and mud with the dogs, had a shower and put my hair in hot rollers to see if it looks nice for the party we are going to later. I have doubts.

Ds1 went to work at 9am, wedding venue, doing a 17 hour shift which I'm not sure is legal? But being paid double time and I know where he is, so I'm very happy about that

Ds2 is still in bed.

DH is on the sofa watching TV.

My one year old has just fallen asleep for his nap.
My two dogs are competing to get to the best spot in front of the Aga… one could concede and have the (also perfectly lovely) spot in front of the woodburner instead but alas, they’re petty.
My husband is somewhere out in the yard, he does a lot of maintenance on the machinery over this period.
I’ve just had a shower so I’m now just drying my hair. I also popped a batch of bacon and cheese turnovers, sausage rolls and mince pies in just now so that’s starting to smell lovely!
