Opinions please! Ignore my outfit I'm aware it doesn't match lol but considering this bag - if I get it I would wear with simplistic outfits but what do you think?

DH thinks it's disgusting (not the design but the print because of its connotations) but want to know if he's outnumbered or not!

On the fake concern, you can tell from someone's overall appearance if their bag is likely to be fake.

Disagree completely. I'm a bag addict too but don't care what I'm wearing when dashing about on errands... If that makes it fake then so be it, only I know where they're bought and as long as I like them that's all that matters since I'm the one carrying it.

generally , not always, but often, you can tell by the rest of someone’s attire. Ie if it’s all expensive it’s likely real. But if it’s not then it’s likely not.

Most people would think my bags are fake based on that. I work from home permanently and so my weekday attire is pretty sloppy and will dash to the shops in that if I need to.
I only own high end bags so that's what I'm carrying. The more people that think it's fake the less likely someone would want to snatch it. I like them and I know they're real as I always buy direct from the brand, never second hand etc. So I don't really care what someone else thinks or assumes. Irrelevant to me.

I'm like you. I also never assume a bag is a fake.. I don't understand that mentality. Who cares anyway ?

ClarathecrosseyedLioness · 30/12/2022 09:05

I don't like the colour but otherwise it's a dinky little bag,

I completely disagree with this.. so someone who owns a designer bag, can't dress casual like OP? Lots of women wear designer bags to go to the gym etc. I really wouldn't think the bag is a fake, based on how a person is dressed. The bag completes any outfit in my opinion.

The we need to agree to disagree. And I didn’t say they can’t dress casually. I said it was about the quality of the rest of rhe outfit. Dressed cheaply with an expensive handbag is usually a major giveaway.

the gym is different.

bibbif · 30/12/2022 09:05

If I’m honest. The rest of your attire said to me it was fake. I’m sorry if I’m wrong,

That's completely wrong ime

maddy68 · 30/12/2022 09:07

Another no from me. Sorry !

Squarerootofpi · 30/12/2022 09:07

I like it, but I'm a chav so my opinion is worthless here 😁

SardineStitches · 30/12/2022 09:07

Surely nobody buys a 'designer' bag if they don't care what others think

Many do. I know I do. I love bags, they're my thing. They always fit where as shoes and clothes have to be the right size etc. I spend a lot on my bags and don't do it for others. Some of my expensive bags have zero recognisable branding. But I got them because I like them not to impress random strangers.

SardineStitches · 30/12/2022 09:10

Dressed cheaply with an expensive handbag is usually a major giveaway.

So you wear pound branded clothing to make sure everyone knows your bag is real?
Odd. I never even notice the brand of people's clothes with their bags. In fact I don't take much notice of others attire including their bags anyway. Don't care what others like or wear. Each to their own.

SardineStitches · 30/12/2022 09:10

*loud branded clothing
that should have said

Sally090807 · 30/12/2022 09:12

Hideous bag.

Appleblum · 30/12/2022 09:13

It's a very cute bag in person OP! You did it a huge injustice with your photo 😅

Buy it if you like it! I remember when it first came out it sold out very quickly and there were waiting lists for it.

I like LV and have many but I've never been a fan of this style myself. But each to their own. I wouldn't worry about what others think though, you're the one who has to like it.

Same here.

Stravaig · 30/12/2022 09:18

I loathe ostentatious branding, so it's a no from me.
I've made it past 50 without ever owning a handbag though, so I'm possibly not the best guide! Do you have nice big pockets in that coat?

A giveaway of what? If the bag is visibly expensive to someone who can tell at a glance whether things are cheap or not, then presumably it's real. So what's this "giveaway"?

What are you actually trying to say?

starfishmummy · 30/12/2022 09:25

Don't like the shape at all. It looks bulky. I imagine it will easily go out of shape unless it has been stiffened somehow - which will then make it uncomfortable. I also imagine it's not very practical to use either.

And yes. I hate the LV print too!

Floweryflora · 30/12/2022 09:26

Seems I’ve hit a real nerve with the cheap clothing and an obvious designer bag is usually a giveaway it’s fake.

generally, as said, but not always, if someone can afford to blow 2 grand on a bag, which is what this bag costs . The rest of their clothing is not cheap/inexpensive. They still wear casual clothing, but it’s not cheap casual clothing.

FrancescaContini · 30/12/2022 09:29

Branded = always vulgar, IMO

Nobody cares how much you have spent on your handbag.

I just think that's incorrect. What about the OP's clothing looks cheap anyway ? You don't know it those might be Lulu lemon leggings for example ? Or a prada coat? She's wearing branded trainers. I don't think the outfit looks particularly cheap. It just looks non descriptive. It could be worth very little, or a lot.

Just my opinion of course.

Agree with this.

Some people like to state their opinion as fact ( not you at all ). So I like to point out that it's just my opinion, always. Why do you think the outfit looks so cheap ? I'm generally interested ? The coat looks a bit discoloured I guess, but I wouldn't say the outfit looks super cheap to me..

If you have to look at something other than the bag to work out if it's real, all that shows is that you don't know how to tell if it's real or not. And therefore can't tell at a glance if clothing is cheap or not. Which undermines everything you're saying.

Again...a giveaway of what? If you can tell whether clothes/accessories are expensive by looking at them, and you gauge the clothes to be cheap and the bag to be costly, doesn't that mean it's likely to be real?

Come on, stop babbling about "hit some undetermined nerve" (yawn) when you get questioned and tell us what you're actually saying. You're in good company on this thread, don't worry.

TabithaTittlemouse · 30/12/2022 09:36

I like it @chavbagornot . If you like it then get it. Your husband isn’t the one carrying it.
