To be furious SIL woke us up at 6AM?

We had a chaotic couple of days and late nights albeit lovely. SIL who lives abroad calls at 6am this morning just to say hi. Dh told her can he call back later as too early and she says oh sorry didn't realise Uk was that early.

I haven't been able to go back to sleep since and I was really looking forward to a lie in this morning. Aibu to be furious that she couldn't even be bothered to calculate the time difference?

She usually never calls and when she does it's either when she wants help with something or to ask a question. I want my sleep back!!!Angry

It’s been sorted, people.

The OP has moved on, so can the rest of us.

Thank you 🙏

Fwiw I completely get it OP. I have health issues and being woken up at 6am could potentially put me out for the whole day and ruin it. So I totally get your frustration being as it sounds like you had a stressful couple of days.

I'm with you, I hate being woken up unnecessarily, like to makes me so mad especially when I need the sleep. My family know to leave me be unless there is a reason, but the kids are allowed to wake me up anytime as long as its with kisses and not screams.

@XmasDone . Do people own 2 at their expense if they're not given a work phone from work?
yes .
my husband has 2 phones one personal and one strictly for work. We got tired of having our personal time interrupted by work calls when he wasn't on call.
doesn't cost a lot for the second phone as it only needs talk and text on it.

You sound particularly pissed off because you've had a hectic couple of days and wanted to rest. That's neither her fault nor her business to consider. She's made a mistake, but it was nice of her to think of you at all. Be grateful, and have an early night...

Ffs Sil calls & your pissed it was 6am life in your goldfish bowl is really rocking it; how will you cope in the real world ?; people are dying; living without heating; don’t have enough food to give their kiddies & all you’ve got to whinge & whine about is being woken up at 6am 🤦‍♀️😂😂😂😂😂 you’ve made me laugh so much

Exactly. Cry me a river please!

6am is nothing and it was a well meaning happy festive wishes call from FAMILY. Bet she wouldnt have freaked if it was her own mother/sister calling.
Try being woken up by persistent happy drunkards every 20mins for 3 hours to be wished happy new year while you've got a load of light sleeping tiny kids in the house. I honestly still dont mind, it's once a year, a good laugh and I used to do the same!
And no I wont switch my phone off, we like to be available for the extended family emergencies.

Sounds like main issue is you don’t like SiL and she has the capacity to wind you up. I don’t like receiving spontaneous calls from someone who you don’t speak with much it’s intrusive. She should have texted or emailed to check a good time to speak ie arrange it properly.
