No pigs in blankets

I thought we were ready for Christmas but I have just realised we have no pigs in blankets. I thought I had some frozen bought ahead but there are none in the freezer.
AIBU to send DS out for them and if he doesn't go, manage without?

Of course you'll be fine without.

golfwidow88 · 23/12/2022 17:11

Christmas is over.

OnTheRunWithMannyMontana · 23/12/2022 17:12

Can you Deliveroo them?? It's not Christmas without bacon, sausagey morsels!

Tilllly · 23/12/2022 17:12

I'd go early tomorrow and get some

LivingDeadGirlUK · 23/12/2022 17:12

I mean I would be devastated without them so probably would send someone out. If none can be found it would be a pack of chipolatas and a pack of bacon to make our own.

Christmas is over.

This

Inkpotlover · 23/12/2022 17:13

There are some components of a Christmas dinner I could live without, but pigs in blankets aren't one of them. Despatch DS forthwith!

APurpleSquirrel · 23/12/2022 17:13

Go out tomorrow morning.

StridTheKiller · 23/12/2022 17:13

They are rank. YABU.

golfwidow88 · 23/12/2022 17:11

Christmas is over.

That was my first thought too. Christmas just isn't the same without the pigs in blankets. Xmas Grin

AppleKatie · 23/12/2022 17:14

Depends whether or not ‘DS’ is under 5 or not 🤷‍♀️

Deliveroo do pigs in blankets?!

Obki · 23/12/2022 17:15

You’ve got this evening and tomorrow to get some.

This is not a dilemma.

Homemade pigs in blankets are the only tolerable option anyway, supermarket ones are horrible!!

ExtraJalapenos · 23/12/2022 17:16

Oh shit I forgot to get some!

All my Xmas shop is done and I have everything...except fresh muthafuckin rosemary

Lockheart · 23/12/2022 17:19

Buy some sausages, buy some bacon, you'll be grand.

Nadal · 23/12/2022 17:19

Yup. Send DS to get some

ApolloandDaphne · 23/12/2022 17:19

You have plenty of time to go and get some.

OnTheRunWithMannyMontana · 23/12/2022 17:21

@xmaslurgy of course! I have Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's on my Deliveroo and all have chiploatas, bacon and Asda have the ready prepared ones. (To me it's not Christmas unless I'm wrapping my own though).

All depends on your local area and which shops have signed up.

JenniferBarkley · 23/12/2022 17:21

I'm not British so I don't personally care about pigs in blankets. But, on the assumption that you need them, I'd do a run to Tesco first thing, before your shower, then you'll be home and sorted before the madness restarts.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 23/12/2022 17:23

Have you got any plasticine?
Could you wrap pastry round some of that?
They will taste much the same as the MRM 'sausage' 😱

golfwidow88 · 23/12/2022 17:24

I'm vegetarian, but prior to this, pigs in blankets WERE the staple. Along side honey and sesame seed cocktail sausages. I'd eat hundreds, maybe thousands.

I always do that anyway. My local butcher does special half-size chipolatas for the purpose and they're so much nicer made with good quality sausages and bacon.

FictionalCharacter · 23/12/2022 17:24

What’s the problem? The shops are open tonight and tomorrow. I bought some today from Aldi.

Hobbesmanc · 23/12/2022 17:26

Our little coop had loads in just now. In fact you could get a whole Xmas dinner.
