I bought a JOIE 360° car seat which at the time seemed extortionate but when I look at how much ease it has given me over the years I think it was worth every penny.
Ditto expensive Dr Marten boots.

AIBU to ask what you've considered expensive when you bought it but in hindsight realised was worth it?

feel like I'm missing out ! Ive never brought any of these ££ things, apart from Sweaty Betty leggings and they were in the sale. My bedding is only ever from Next, don't drink coffee, don't wear glasses/lenses, dinner set from M&S/some ikea, no designer clothes/shoes, no posh toiletries (use Sanctuary v occasionally), no pets. Have flown business class a few times but that was with airmiles. Couldn't afford it otherwise and don't know when I next will have enough airmiles to do it again. But it is sooooooo worth it

I've never know a GP visit to a pregnant lady as a nurse and as a pregnant woman. I think I saw my GP twice and that is both my pregnancies

When my eldest was born GP came to my homebirth - on Christmas Eve. She was v supportive of homebirths.

A Vi-spring mattress- never known comfort like it. A Quooker tap - use it so often. Skin & Me skin care - prescription and incredible. Heated duvet - just OMG OMG.

Brabantia ironing board.
Stainless steel, copper based pans - still perfect after 32 years.
Second the Quooker tap
Having my Christmas trees put up and decorated - worth every single.penny.

The best pans and knives you can manage - mine are in daily use since the '80s and still going strong.
Sage coffee machine
Apple hardware - outlasts every other type I use.
Private MH care for two family members, in one case literally life saving.

I'm intrigued by the Christmas trees - do you have someone in to do your own tree with your own decorations or is it more of a styling service with a decorator supplying everything?

RosesAndHellebores · 25/06/2023 14:18

I have a "tree man" who delivers two trees every December, trims them to symmetrical perfection and decorates them with my lights and decorations. He also brings a wreath for the front door and dresses the fireplaces. I hate doing them and they look like sh1t when I do. It's a hateful and tedious job imo. We have a Christmas party every year about a week before Christmas so I think it's worth it.

It is not cheap but worth every penny.Blush. I have always told myself, I'll get someone to wrap the presents one day.

Thank you - I had no idea this service existed. The nearest I've seen is the odd colleague who has their home styled for Christmas - the outcome is always very stylish but a bit antiseptic and I like my own decorations, tatty child creations and all.

I'm not great at decorating - not the arty one in the family- but we used to decorate it as a family, then gradually as the DC left home we had it ready for when they came back at Christmas/Christmas party etc. This year will be very different. Hiring someone to decorate may seem extravagant but perhaps it will solve a problem I'm dreading at the moment.

I bought a goose. Well worth it.

Geese are one of life's great joys.

Duvalay sleeping bags for the caravan. No more cold backs.

Bugaboo Donkey pushchair. It's 10yrs old now and has serviced 4 children. I wish I'd bought it for my first and had it for all 5 of them.
Jura coffee machine. My husband bought it for me as a gift, and it's wonderful.
Mulberry handbag. My Dad bought it for me when he retired over a decade ago and it's worn in beautifully.
I bought my husband a £400 coat for Christmas as winters where he works are truly freezing. He raves about it so money well spent, I think.

After sharing a bed with DD for three years now and previously sleeping on the floor in many London apartments I have splashed out on the comfiest bed
Can't not wait to have my own bedroom and try it out

Having my feet done about every six weeks and having my toenails properly cut.

I have big boobs and could never quite manage to cut them properly as they got in the way.

It's only £28 a time but I have no hard skin on the heels and my feet look fairly pretty now. Footwear is more comfortable too.

So worth it, can't understand why I didn't do it years ago.
