I bought a JOIE 360° car seat which at the time seemed extortionate but when I look at how much ease it has given me over the years I think it was worth every penny.
Ditto expensive Dr Marten boots.

AIBU to ask what you've considered expensive when you bought it but in hindsight realised was worth it?

Where are people buying their lovely bed sheets from. Id love to upgrade mine

Dusk. Their Marseille bedding (600 thread count) gets rave reviews from various 'experts'/bloggers. I also really like their Kensington 800 thread count, They have a sale that just started and it's very good value.

I stayed in one of the Park Lane 5 stay hotels last weekend (had the BEST time!) and their bedding wasn't as nice as my Dusk bedding. (Took all my self-discipline not to steal their Byredo shampoo & conditioner though 😂)

LexMitior · 21/12/2022 20:19

That another one. Byredo. So good

Mrshanklee · 21/12/2022 20:30

A good red wine.
5 star hotels
Airport Lounges
Taxi’s back from a night out. Can’t stand that last train home.

Just adding perfume and good quality pans and bakeware I love my circulon and le creuset most of it is over 20 years old and not showing great signs of wear
good quality shoes handbags and coats are also worth the investment IMO

KilledByWitches · 21/12/2022 21:21

I’m going to be controversial now….

Great thread. Love nice bedding. My laser hair was my treat well worth.

Molton Brown bath and shower wash
Fresh Deep hydrating rose face cream
mac stack mascara
Denby dinnerware (from outlet)
Mason Pearson comb - had it years
Leonidas chocolates
Diptyque candles
Tweezerman tweezers
Diamancel foot buffer

Roses, I never really had leg hair (was called Shiny Legs at school!) I had it lifelong but not diagnosed until 33.. by which point I was almost in a coma. Lost the eyebrows but head hair is fine now as long as I keep up the vit D intake (high strength) I'm happy I rarely have to bother with legs and pits but I'd still rather be hairy and have my old brows and lashes back

Microblading for your brows and a good serum (eg Revitalift) for your lashes.
I find Rollerlash by Benefit to be the best, lengthening mascara.

chocolateasaltyballs22 · 22/12/2022 08:16

For those of you who like Molten Brown, try Fragrance Society from M&S. Exactly the same, and a fiver.

Benjispruce4 · 22/12/2022 08:36

Fragrance Society is very nice and I do buy that sometimes but find the fragrance doesn’t linger as much as MB.

ivykaty44 · 22/12/2022 13:47

A good red wine.

I went to a wine tasting in St Emillion in the autumn and I didn't like the taste of the more expensive wine, but really enjoyed the mid priced less "good" wine, so Id have to disagree with you on that one

God yes, don’t cheap out on something that’s going to be on you for presumably the rest of your life.

Maldon Salt
Cockapoo (we had German shephards, Jack Russell, labs, doberman etc). It has changed my husband from dog weary to a big softee. He loves that dog.
Landsend pj's, David Niper if really spendy
Fevertree blood orange tonic
Marks coffee ice cream
Persian rugs, timeless and portable
Antique furniture
Lakeland heated washing rack. Had ours 14 years.

Benjispruce4 · 22/12/2022 18:24

@WendyWagon have you tried Waitrose Colombian coffee ice cream?

Emotionalsupportviper · 22/12/2022 18:25

Pandoralovegood · 18/12/2022 14:42

Vet bills, they have saved her life twice now and the furry little beast is still going strong. Thank god online pet pharmacy is so much cheaper than getting stuff from the vets though for her ongoing meds.

Do you not need a prescription for them? Our vet's prescription charge was so high it was cheaper to buy from him!

Benjispruce4 · 22/12/2022 18:29

@WendyWagon just added blood orange tonic to my last minute list for DH.😁

@Benjispruce4 I have tried the Waitrose one. More coffee than the marks. I also recommend MacKays vanilla (for people who don't like flavours) . Like an angel 😇 crying on your tongue.
