Radiator in kitchen

I had an incident yesterday and needed my neighbour's help. He noticed I had a radiator in the kitchen and said it was unusual. I said every house I have lived in has had a radiator in the kitchen. He's saying no one he knows has a radiator in their kitchen.
So AIBU to ask if you have a radiator in your kitchen?

No, but I did in my previous place. However that one was right next to the only space for the fridge so it was never switched on.

Itsonlyagame · 15/12/2022 18:30

I do, but I have lived in houses that didn't. I actually took a radiator out of my kitchen in my last house.

NewBootsAndRanty · 15/12/2022 18:30

Yes I do.

Orangesare · 15/12/2022 18:30

Every house that has had radiators has had at least one in the kitchen. I did live in one house with storage heaters and there was no heat source in the kitchen, it was freezing

thelobsterquadrille · 15/12/2022 18:31

Our current house doesn't have a radiator, but we have a blast heater fitted under the units.

All my previous homes have had radiators in the kitchen.

Oysterbabe · 15/12/2022 18:31

I do.

VestPantsandSocks · 15/12/2022 18:31

Yes.

Hugasauras · 15/12/2022 18:31

Ours has two!

BIWI · 15/12/2022 18:31

We did in our old kitchen. When we had our extension built we put in underfloor heating, so it would free up some wall space.

Atmywitsend29 · 15/12/2022 18:32

I do.

IndieK1d · 15/12/2022 18:33

Mine does

HeadNorth · 15/12/2022 18:33

I do, but it is in the dining section not the cooking section.

chineapplepunks · 15/12/2022 18:33

Lived in 5 different houses. 3 of them have had radiators in the kitchen!

LlareggubTripAdviser · 15/12/2022 18:33

Yep me too.. I am grateful for it xx

Xanadu58 · 15/12/2022 18:33

Yes, a small one behind the door . We never have it on though.

carefulcalculator · 15/12/2022 18:33

We do.

FourChimneys · 15/12/2022 18:34

We do. It's under the kitchen table so maybe not the most efficient place but it is very cosy at breakfast time.

My previous houses have all had them, I thought it was normal.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 15/12/2022 18:34

MIL doesn't, but that's because the range/boiler doobrey was in there. I didn't in my two flats wouldn't have had enough room for a sink but I do in my house. Tucked between the wetroom door (no radiator in there; it doesn't get used) and the back door.

Jackster22 · 15/12/2022 18:34

I don’t, wish I did cos it’s quite a big kitchen - I have a heater in there when so cold

OoooohMatron · 15/12/2022 18:35

We do. It's less common in older properties but certainly not unusual

fluffiphlox · 15/12/2022 18:36

I do in my current house but not in our previous one.

Thedogscollar · 15/12/2022 18:37

Yes I do. Too cold not to.

Liglig · 15/12/2022 18:38

Yes I have one in my kitchen, everyone I k iw in my family also have them in their kitchens!

NoMoneyForFancyStuff · 15/12/2022 18:38

I have them in my kitchen.

XenoBitch · 15/12/2022 18:40

Yes, radiator in kitchen here too.

My parent's house have a radiator in their loo. It is literally just the loo in there, not even a sink. I really don't see the point in that!
