Have I watched everything that's worth watching or I can I just not find anything?

Any recommendations?

& I found less & less was available quickly.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Sky Castle, Oh My Venus - I've fallen down the Kdrama hole as well!

Oblomov22 · 15/12/2022 16:51

Agree. It's all crap.

Don't say that! I loved Dark and I was really looking forward to 1899. That was pretty much our whole Christmas plan.

OP it will not disappoint

I loved Dark too and I also love 1899.

The Good Place, Superstore, Jane the Virgin, Brooklyn 99, Sex Education, Still Game, Motherland, Schitt's Creek, Cuckoo?

Pothoswithasparkle · 15/12/2022 16:53

Prime is amazing if you are into proper low budget horrors 😂
5mil and need a fire tornado? Suuure, here!
Love how bad they are

EarringsandLipstick · 15/12/2022 16:54

It is kind of rubbish.

Then every so often a few gems come, and I'm hooked for a bit.

I'm looking forward to Lady Chatterly's Lover, and Emily in Paris season 3, plus the new series of Love Life (series 1 was fabulous - stars Anna Kendrick, goes back through her life & relationships). Also Mothering Sunday.

So many recent series have disappointed eg Firefly Lane series 2 (watchable but very schlocky & characters have got v annoying). Also Dead to Me - so brilliant S1 & 2, annoying series 3.

I came to Ozark late I really loved it. Right to the last minute. Brilliant acting.

What I don't like is that I watch mostly on my phone while doing other things ... I rarely get near the TV to watch properly which makes everything a bit rubbish.

Pothoswithasparkle · 15/12/2022 16:54

Lots of people here keep naming older series.
There is plenty older great things to watch, bit last year was... Somewhat disappointing for the money tbh

JoyfulGirl · 15/12/2022 16:55

All of Star Trek is on there, I’m not sure what more you could want?! 🖖🏻

KimmySchmitt · 15/12/2022 16:55

@EarringsandLipstick oh Love Life was brilliant, good shout

Mirabai · 15/12/2022 16:56

Between Amazon Prime and Netflix there’s more than I have time to watch. But it’s true there’s a lot of crap.

PumpkinPooSpice · 15/12/2022 16:57

I know prime delivery is a con but it's basically worth it just for Christmas shopping.

I'm glad you liked it too, no one else I know seems to have watched it!

I do also like having a range of easy to watch family movies to look at with the kids.

I also watch some things over & over eg Motherland & Just Like Heaven (love that movie!) and it's handy to have them available (until they are not of course!)

KandtheQueens · 15/12/2022 16:58

I'd recommend Superstore, Motherland and Schitt's Creek if you like Friends.

Mirabai · 15/12/2022 17:01

I watched Indian Matchmaker, The Parisian Agency, Call My Agent, Lupin, The Last Czars, The Queen’s Gambit, Selling Sunset, Ginny & Georgia.

MrsToothyBitch · 15/12/2022 17:01

I like crime shows so I really like Netflix! Would recommend Ozark, it's v compelling!

Flossless · 15/12/2022 17:01

I'm binge-watching "Dead to me" at the moment.

This thread has reminded me to google why the main actors appearance changed so much in the third series. Apparently the actor has a serious health condition.

Pothoswithasparkle · 15/12/2022 17:02

I use prime lot more than netflix because of the other things. Prime video, primebooks, prime music (well fuck that now), alexa, prime shopping.
Totally worth £90 a year. Compared to £190 Or therebauts for netflix (more screens needed). Really about to cancel and always just pay month once in a while to binge.

Is Golden Girls on Disney?!?

Aye it is indeed! Enjoy, its bloody hilarious!

Mirabai · 15/12/2022 17:03

I totally get my money’s worth from Prime, I order my whole life from it.

DwpDwp · 15/12/2022 17:03

I’m evangelical about Bojack Horseman. It’s at the top end of a lot of listicles about best Netflix shows, or best shows of the last 10 years in general.

Problem is, for at least half of the first season, it comes across as a pretty ordinary ‘adult’ animated comedy, when really it’s so much more.

Extremely funny, sometimes heartwarming, sometimes heartbreaking, and very daring in terms of animation and narrative structure.

The episode told through the perspective of his extremely abusive, dementia-stricken mother is one of many astounding highs.

Pothoswithasparkle · 15/12/2022 17:05

Bojack was great.

I'll look up Indian crime dramas, that's interesting I don't think I'd heard of any before.

Give it a go, they're true crimes, or based on true crimes. India Detectives had me hooked.
Also Gladbeck, Hotel Cecil and unsolved mysteries are worth a watch.

Theraffarian · 15/12/2022 17:11

Dead to Me , I wasn’t sure I fancied another series of it , but it balanced the absurdity from earlier with a new theme really well.

NoDramaMama12 · 15/12/2022 17:19

Queen of the South
Will second Ozark and Anatomy of a scandal
