What is actually in a Christmas dinner?

I can’t remember and need to make this year, what are the basics please?

A joint of meat of your choice, roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, greens and gravy.

All the above plus Sprouts, pigs in blankets, yourkshire pud (yes, even if it’s not with beef!) and stuffing.

Is it brocolli, cauliflower, Yorkshire puddings etc or is that more of a Sunday roast…oh and sprouts yes?

Turkey, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, carrots (roasted), cauliflour cheese, sprouts, gravy, stuffing, broccoli, pigs in blankets, leeks(?) yorkshire puddings (?), red cabbage(?)...feel like I'm forgetting something obvious!

wharever you like really but I do turkey, stuffing, pigs in blankets, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, roasted carrots and parsnips, peas and leeks and sprouts. Gravy and cranberry. Also doing a porcetta and dauphinois this year as got a crowd coming.

How can you forget ?

I'm also known to throw together a little mashed potato because the rest of my family are dead against it on Christmas Day (but not on a regular roast!)

No ham (although I’ll do a ham to
eat at other meals), no YPs (only with beef), no multiple types of potatoes.

Usually it's turkey with stuffing and little bacon wrapped cocktail sausages and roast potatoes. Those are the basics people expect. And gravy. Cranberry sauce is often there too. Sprouts are traditional but few people really like them unless you zoosh them up with bits of bacon and chestnut (big hassle) so go with your veg of choice. Peas tend to appear a lot, as do carrots.

Don't forget ppbread sauce or cranberry sauce or both. Its basically just a fancy roast with pigs in blankets, roasted parsnips sprouts and crackers

What's with all the Yorkshire puddings?!!!!!

Personally not keen on pigs in blankets but chipolatas are nice.

Oh please. Yorkshire puddings go with EVERYTHING.

Turkey, ham, stuffing, sprouts, any other veg of your choice, roast spuds and gravy. Basically a sunday dinner but bigger.
