Have you seen the advert ?
telling us all to remind ourselves we are
enough. While removing her artfully applied make up from a face that is comparatively free of the average woman’s stress despite the fact she is being wheeled out by L’Oréal on that very platform: the “normal”’woman
Thanks for answering.
K W has always taken a stand against photoshopping in magazines because it gives the impression of perfection to young women which is in fact unobtainable.
In I am Ruth I thought she absolutely did look like a normal woman of her age. She does not look as though she’s had cosmetic surgery, and in this drama she had little make-up, or natural looking make-up.
So I don’t see it as odd that l’Oreal chose her, or think she is a ‘fake’ in that assigned role.
As to her being free of the average woman’s stress, none of us knows what stress she feels. Are you saying that it must be less stress than the average woman because she must be richer? I am not sure that is how stress works ( though I agree she could get more beauty treatments and so on).
They want a recognised face so would never have chosen an average person off the street. And yes, they also would choose someone beautiful not someone average looking. So you are right it is all a lie but that’s what advertisements do: create a mirage.
Advertisements are all dodgy by their very nature. I didn’t like their ‘Because I’m worth it’ ones much as a message.
