I do like some popsy dresses, and find them practical as a teacher as they fall at a flattering length for me and I like the fact they all have pockets as standard. I also like having some of the more unique prints to add a bit of a colour to my wardrobe, although I do find some of their prints a bit toddler like and garish so I steer clear of those. The quality isn't particularly great for the price you pay, so I have mostly just bought bargains on the resale facebook group as and when they come up, as I can't justify the cost otherwise.
People's absolute obsession with the brand particularly on Facebook is something I've often found a little odd. But it's no different to other brand trends like people's current obsession with collecting different coloured Stanley cups, or the chokehold scandi style clothing had on parents of young children a few years ago. Their marketing model of new releases every week whips up excitement for some, but has never been something I've been drawn in to.
Some of the behaviour on their Frocks & Friends Facebook group, particularly pandering/hero worshipping certain members has long made me uncomfortable. I blocked the organ playing member mentioned a few times on this thread already, as well as a couple of other prominent members in there as their posts, and the fawning replies of others made me uncomfortable, so I took action for myself. People have always overshared in there.
I wasn't aware of the Tattle posts or recent Trustpilot drama, but I have to say none of it surprises me. The way the brand has been built and grown has been by encouraging a weird parasocial relationship between the business and customers.
