I want my blepharoplasty doing in a few years and husband has point blank said no.

My face my decision or is his right to tell me I cant?

So unhappy with my tired eyes

Just to add - I did visit my GP who did refer me for further treatment - I logged in to the referral and there were no appointments for 71 weeks! That's just the first appointment. Also would feel a bit guilty having it done on NHS (despite paying in for the last 42 years) so for me personally private was best option.

Hi OP. Just wanted to check in with you. I had my bleph procedure yesterday - I'd been waiting two months as I wanted to maximize my time off work to recover. I currently look like I'm "dead" according to my eldest daughter and it IS going to take a couple of weeks for the bruising to go - I bruise easily so no surprise there. But I can tell already that the hooded skin is GONE and in a few weeks I'll feel more confident about how I look. £2.5k - was it worth it? Every bloody penny.

Were you sedated for the op fookup? I've quite nervous about mine, but really really excited!

If you have the surgery then your husband should have the same to spend on whatever he likes.

Hi no sedation at all. I was very nervous but I had some eye drops before I went to the theatre - then some local anaesthetic and honestly didn't feel a thing. I calmed down very quickly and they monitored my blood pressure all the way through. The bruising is quite bad but I can already see the improvement and that's with still swollen eye lids. I already feel better about myself - it will take time to recover but so glad I had it done. Wouldn't consider any other surgery - areas I would like to improve are arms and stomach but I know these are within my power to change - the eyes were not. Good luck with your procedure - you really do deserve to look and feel the way you want to.

It's not too late to change your life if you want.

Your DH sounds a bit his way or the highway and wears you down with arguments until you give in.

You mentioned being isolated and anxious. How much is that due to his attitude?
