AIBU to be getting fed up with Michael Sheens motivational speeches for anything Welsh ?

I heard him shouting at the Welsh football team the other day. I asked DH who the nutter was. I didn't recognise him, he just looked like some random bum that had sneaked in.
The Welsh team looked nearly as thrilled as the US team did when Biden was on the phone to them.

I like him (I’m not Welsh) because I think he’s a decent bloke. I can see why people fancy him too. The marriage to an individual who is barely older than his daughter is questionable but she was a consenting adult I assume

I heard his speech on the radio in the car on the way to work this morning. God, how bloody over the top he is! What a bloody performance!! DON'T YOU KNOW I'M A FINE CLASSICAL ACTOR?!?!? I felt a bit embarrassed for him.

I've gone right off him since he married someone less than half his age n all.

I find the fact that his partner is in her 20s to his 50s extremely ick-inducing.

I can’t imagine anyone enjoys Michael Sheen’s speeches as much as Michael Sheen does.

I don't like his speeches (half ish Welsh here, not that it should matter!). He does give me the ick anyway because of the age gap marriage, but it's clear he's anti-English as well as pro-Welsh which I find off putting.

I like him and his speaking out, but I don't agree with all the points he makes in his speeches. I also find him maritally iffy.

Wonderful actor though.

He's speeches are obviously for Welsh people, not English people so you're not really the target audience.

That doesn't mean he's anti-English though, some pp are finding out for the first time that some peoples aren't always happy about being annexed.
Seems to be a case of Welsh people are to be seen and not heard....

BT is apparently a Brexiteer and a Tory so I suppose he'd be more to their taste. (I suspect the child was his son though as many rich, successful men (re-)marry younger women and don't really care what older women think of that).

If he is anti-English then he must be anti his own child, who is half English...

William as the proper Prince of Wales should challenge him to a fisticuffs duel. Whoever wins keeps or takes the title and the other shuts up.

You can imagine him being a very enthusiastic hellfire and brimstone spouting rector back in the 19th century. Warning people against the evils of fornication, all the while enjoying tea and sandwiches and a bit more with some of the finer married ladies of the parish.

Why is it pathetic? Because we are shouldn't dare to want to beat the mighty England at anything?? In sport it's natural to want to beat the opposition
