I've googled and Googled

I'm a celebrity- what happens to the rats , frogs , snakes , lizards, water dragons , alligators etc AFTER the trials ?

Where do they go and what happens to them ?

There is a distinct lack of information on what happens to these animals after the trials .

I had heard they are culled as they cannot be released into the eco system.

There is absolutely no information available.

These are sentient creatures- I love rats , they are intelligent, affectionate, trainable, loving animals - yet I cannot find any info on what happens after these trials .

Why is that ?

They are all home reared and not wild animals. They won't be released into the wild. They will be returned to their owners, zoos etc

I cannot imagine for a moment the snakes, rats, crocs get killed, that wouldn't make business sense if nothing else.

People just want to watch the telly not get wound up about animals on TV shows. Got enough to worry about.

Stop speaking on behalf everyone, just because YOU think like that. How shallow!

OP, I've never watched it because of the aforementioned but dudbt really give a thought to the animals, after.

Rats can live around 5 years so why would they kill them rather than reusing them? But you don’t want to believe it’s anything other than slaughter so it doesn’t matter what we say. Why would they send insects to a zoo but just kill the other animals?

If they belong to a TV/Film animal supply company, that just does animals for tv, then they will probably go home and feature in a film or tv show or whatever again and again until too old.

If however, they're owned by a live/frozen food commercial breeder, theres a good chance they will go to fulfill that purpose, having likely been bought by the production co. and then sold on to feed zoo animals or, if they are hired, they'll go back and... be killed for food.

There are few people keeping such large numbers of the animals used on such shows except TV/Film supply and commercial pet food/pet shop supply.

And thank you to those who have been lovely . I do really try to be aware of the environment in everything I do .

I love all animals. I dont kill anything ever . Even the little bods that invade my house that I aren't keen on....they get put out - never killed . I've just got to the point I can pick spiders up. Had some big waspy things in lately with a big sting - I have grabbed them with kitchen roll and off they go in the garden . All my house spiders are in the shed - warm and dry . I won't kill anything. An insect being in the wrong place wrong time is t enough for me to end its life . I'm a hippy at heart . And I aren't afraid of frogs , lizards, rats, crabs , eels, snakes , so I don't really get the use of them on an entertainment show . Not a fan of spindley spiders but still refuse to kill . Love big chunky spiders . Really I do try to live a veggie life . I prefer that . I do t always manage it but I try . I would never deliberately harm any living thing . They have as much right to life as me . Be that an ant ( ants are fascinating actually) or a rat or a dog or a horse or a cow .
