What Christmas decor do you hate?

Following on from a thread about interior design hates, I thought I'd do a festive version.
I'll start

I do not like:

Pop up trees

Blue lights - flashing or not

Inflatables

Rope light figures

Fibre optics

Projectors on houses.

What are yours?

I agree. So depressing.

Mine go up early December and stay up at least till January 6.

I had to Google Nutcrackers, yes they are hideous, there I was thinking how are you going to crack open your Brazil nuts and walnuts.🤣😂🤣

I had to Google, creepy yuk.🤣

Tinsel I think it comes from childhood tbh, hated Christmas at home and the tree was covered in a ridiculous excess of tinsel every year.

I love nutcrackers but clearly in the minority 😂 the very classic looking angels with the porcelain type painted faces? on top of the tree on the other hand always freak me out, they look like they're going to come alive and want to play a horror movie type game!

@slowquickstep you would love my lovely neighbour. Every year she puts out one of these signs. Only, it's handmade with a marker and piece of cardboard. And spelled incorrectly.

Hideous

My tree looks like someone has been walking towards it with a box of decorations and then tripped. And I love it.
Same here. They're mainly assorted jewel colours because I don't like pastels, but we've also got some handmade ones by DC, some metal ones and felt ones.
The beautiful glass ones have gone away until DC are teens because I'd be devestated if they broke.

Fake trees - I just think they look naff.

Ditto fake garlands and wreaths.

Those icicle lights people run along eaves - ghastly.

Christmas cards displayed in any arrangement.

Decorations up too early or kept up too late.

This. All of my friends match all the colors of their decorations. Seems so cold and impersonal and more for show. None of my decorations match, all of our our ornaments were bought over time and are different colors and styles.

Same here. I like to buy decorations abroad whenever I get the chance so my tree is full of holiday memories.

Tinsel, coloured lights, blow up things

What's your opinion on (warm) lighted reindeer family for a balcony - never had a balcony before, on an arterial route so people will see it - might bring a smile

A house near us which we pass on our late evening dog walk has two lit up deer and I love them. They are simple shapes with plain warm white lights

White and pink Christmas trees. Big bows on doors. Sorry but they look so tacky

We have a warm white reindeer family on top of our bay window. It makes me smile.

Santa stop here signs

I absolutely love my blue lights …am now seriously wondering about changing them😳

If you love them, then keep them. I don’t like them, so don’t have them.

Unless they’re outside, flashing 24/7 and annoying your neighbours. If so, straight in the bin please.

Oh my Christmas decor is tacky as and I live for it, tree is decorated with huge pink baubles, masquerade masks, flowers, bows, boas, pampas etc I have a 6 foot inflatable grotto in the living room 5 foot dancing nutcracker and a 6 foot singing and dancing Santa 🙈🙈no other reason then because I want to and because I can. 😂

Now, that doesn’t sound like it’s for me. But it also sounds epic! And love that you love it.
