A treat from an M&S

Is not a free loaf of bread?
Are things that bad that a loaf of bread is now considered a treat?

Well, it's free so 🤷‍♀️

Overthebow · 13/11/2022 21:47

M&S do really nice bread. I’d be happy if someone bought that for me.

Toomanybooks22 · 13/11/2022 21:50

M&S bread is lovely. I had this code up on my M&S app and was perfectly happy it. It's better for my diet then them offering free chocolate / sweets.

brighterthanthemoon · 13/11/2022 21:50

It's a free loaf of bread! Far more useful than a bag of sweets.

ElmoNeedsThePotty · 13/11/2022 21:52

If it has come from your Sparks offers, they tend to be based on what you buy fairly often. I’ve had the loaf offer several times and been glad of it.

just use the money you’ve saved buying the bread to pick a treat you do want.

For me it’s a bag of their Jelly Babies.

PatChaunceysFruitCake · 13/11/2022 21:52

You've made me smile. I got this gift a few weeks ago and said the same. I had to eat my words as the bread was lovely.

LizziesTwin · 13/11/2022 21:55

I’ve got a bag of Percy Pigs. I think it’s something you never buy, I’ve never bought them, I’ve tried them occasionally when I’ve been offered them and find them inedible.

bluechilli47 · 13/11/2022 21:56

It went from "ooh a treat" to "oh a loaf of bread". I'll take it, it's free but it shouldn't be called a treat!

Anything that is free is a gift , we got free pears last week and they were lovely .

Stationsofthecross · 13/11/2022 21:58

🤷🏻‍♀️ give it to someone else if you don’t want it. Seems a bit ungrateful to me - Its free! I got a bag of Percy pigs - which I like, I would have preferred the loaf of bread!

TheDogsMother · 13/11/2022 21:59

We got the loaf this week and it was an unexpected bonus. More useful than a bag of Percy Pigs.

insweetharmony · 13/11/2022 22:00

it’s a treat cos you’re getting it free obv

RoseAndGeranium · 13/11/2022 22:01

I was delighted when I got the free loaf. I never bother with the Percy Pigs. I think this is an odd thing to be miffed about tbh.

brighterthanthemoon · 13/11/2022 22:02

Put it in the food bank if you don't want it?

Tillsforthrills · 13/11/2022 22:03

I for one can see what you mean OP.

A loaf of bread isn’t a ‘treat’. Of course it isn’t ungrateful to recognise that, nice as it may be.

brighterthanthemoon · 13/11/2022 22:03

It's obviously a treat, no one buys bread from M&S for every day eating unless it's the only shop around or they are loaded

NoodieRoodie · 13/11/2022 22:03

I had the bread and it was lovely. At the beginning of Sparks when they were giving out freebies willy nilly I was totally gutted when my mum got a pack of nice biscuits and I
got an avocado! Please tell me at what point in your life you'd say "I'm so pleased I got a yummy avocado rather than those super chocolaty biscuits"???

Do you shop there?

FredaFox · 13/11/2022 22:11

I've had the free bread twice which I've been happy with, in spring I had free tulips and daffodils which I also liked. Ive never had Percy pigs or candles

In the right mood and that would be. I really crave a good avocado sometimes. Don’t get wrong chocolate is nice too.

NoAprilFool · 13/11/2022 22:13

Yes, and I have a sparks card
