AWFUL NAMES TO CALL YOU CHILD...

I dont think there's anything people get more worked up over something that is none of their business than what someone has or wants to call their child.
With this in mind, I thought it might be fun for people to nominate some really bad names they've heard friends or relatives have given to these poor little children.... Whats the worst you've ever heard?
Who knows... this page might be inspiration for some pregnant ladies out there!
Have fun!

Oh pmsl so many times on this thread!

I was careful to check out my ds's initials before deciding on his names- because I remember my dad telling me he was about to name my brother Victor at the registrars when he realised what his initials would be... what with his surname being Docherty...

captainmummy · 30/01/2008 14:27

Husband's middle name: Achilles along with 4 other middle names - his father was pissed when they went to teh registry and kept adding pope's names!

Went to school with a Gay Leslie Flashman - very cool!

I'd think twice about Candida and Gaylord these days
LOL at some of these tales
Dd is at school with a child with a really odd combination of names but as others have said, once you know the child, you stop being obsessed with why the parents did this...
Robert Graves swore he knew a Dolores Fuertes de la Barriga, on Mallorca (= ghastly stomach pains).

callmeovercautious · 30/01/2008 20:44

blu I know a Man called Blu, his Sister is Skye.

My Grandmas Grandma was Mineral Waters, I suppose that was when you got your water from a well so there was no odd connotation to it I do like the name Mineral though.

The strangest I knew as a Child was a Girl called Duvergne, we called her Divi. I think it is a French Canadian name.
