AWFUL NAMES TO CALL YOU CHILD...

I dont think there's anything people get more worked up over something that is none of their business than what someone has or wants to call their child.
With this in mind, I thought it might be fun for people to nominate some really bad names they've heard friends or relatives have given to these poor little children.... Whats the worst you've ever heard?
Who knows... this page might be inspiration for some pregnant ladies out there!
Have fun!

ooh childfriendly - my DH wanted to call both our DSs Thaddeus. I hated it! Can you imagine it shortened to 'Thad' - sounds like splat or thump or some other noise.

Neither got called that needless to say!

I'm not to keen on names that aren't names - but things - or surnames - to be honest. Bailey, Oakley etc...but anything is better than yet another Freddie or Harry or Josh or Rosie, or Lily..Daisy... Just so damn many of them!!!

There was a documentary on a few years ago about a family (mum called Anne-Marie and dad Roddy) who had children (son called Roddy and daughter called - well you guess.) I have a ds2 whose 1st name starts with the same letter as his dads, and we get confused with the post now (ds2 is 10). what would it be like if everyone in the house had the same name

spugs · 31/01/2008 11:19

at my school we have a boy called kid

milkyJammy · 31/01/2008 11:57

I was at school with some boys where all 3 boys in the family had the same initial, which was also the same as their dad's. They said when a letter came for Mr Initial.Surname they had to let Mum open it.

TillyScoutsmum · 31/01/2008 12:16

Hatrick - Another Harper Lee fan here... My mother was furious "What ??? Scout ?? As in boy scout ??". Also love Atticus

I knew of triplets once (2 girls and a boy) who were called, Faith, Hope and ... Colin

Emprexia · 31/01/2008 14:47

branflake81 · 31/01/2008 14:59

Summermummy - I'm curious - what's your son's name....

I'm racking my brains and the only name I can think would cause great offence is Adolf.

Wallace · 31/01/2008 15:45

There is an old teletubbies episode and the television clip bit has 4 boys called Matthew, Mark, Luke and Angus

peasoup · 31/01/2008 15:52

I went to school with a boy called
"Parke Street"- he was American. And a boy called "Om", the noise you're supposed to make when meditating (I think).
A couple I knew called their kids "Karma" and "Beezer"- Karma speaks for itself; Beezer, however, was the nickname for BSA British motorbikes. Parents were bikers/hippies, in case you hadn't guessed.

peasoup · 31/01/2008 15:55

Also at my school were Duncan, Dewy, Dody and Ducky, two brothers and their two sisters.

peasoup · 31/01/2008 15:56

Oh, just remembered another one. Three brothers I knew in the early 80's called Luke, Skler and Walker. Their parents were big star wars fans. Americans obviously

welshmum · 31/01/2008 15:56

Day-jurnay has always been a favourite of mine

peasoup · 31/01/2008 15:57

That should have been Skyler, not Skler
