To ask you to show me your Dressing table

I'm looking for a new more modern dressing table as mine is over 30 yrs old and quite large and dark.
I'm going round in circles.
Anyone bought one recently and where from

I have a shelf of a bookshelf, holding out for something new soon, lots of ideas here! Have used family glassware for all my bits n bobs!

I have the ikea malm dressing table in my dressing room. After years of doing my make up on the bed using a handheld mirror, I decided I needed one. It's so much easier but seems to take me twice as long now I'm comfy.

I prefer to do my make up with a hand held mirror just sat on my bed! But I did create one for my Mum for when she comes to stay with us. It’s just a desk from Swoon with a glass Sophie Conran mirror that I found on eBay. She keeps all her bits and pieces in the blue IKEA boxes on the shelves. I work from home so sometimes if I fancy a change from the kitchen table I’ll take the mirror off, pop it in the wardrobe and use it as an actual desk for a few days.

I've got this one! I adore it, it holds loads and I can fold the mirror down and use it like a little table.

I've got this one, from la redoute, photo from when I put it together two years ago, there's shelves on wall over it and plants on and makeup boxes now - the ring on the mirror lights up too (that was an addition by me)

Me too! I'd love room for a dressing table.
Op the lighting is more important than the table, so make sure whatever you get it fits in a space with good natural light or sockets for artificial.

I'd love one but never had the room.
Currently I'm doing my hair and make using a 'shavers' freestanding mirror, sat on my bed. But then again it also feels wasteful to me as I dry and straighten my hair in less than 10 minutes, for make up i use eye shadow and mascara, nothing else!

I don't have enough room in my bedroom for one, sadly.

Where do people who don't have dressing tables doing their hair and make-up? On their floor?? Can just imagine makeup stains everywhere!

I'm in my 30's. I've always had a dressing table, my latest one is a black glossy one to go with my moody coloured room. I can't remember where I got it from though - sorry!

I have a huge chest of drawers in my bedroom and keep jewellery and lotions and potions on the top but I actually have an old blanket box in the living room with a little rush footstool that I sit on and prop a mirror on the radiator. Hairdryer is plugged in by the tv and everything I need is in the blanket box . I'm up way too early to do my hair upstairs so I do it all downstairs instead.

I love my dressing table! I used to have the IKEA one but found a gorgeous one 2nd hand in a vintage shop and couldn't resist. The lights are from Amazon

I have the IKEA malm one, it's really good. Loads of storage for makeup and hair supplies in the drawer.

This is mine. I love it because it’s pretty small. We have quite a lot of storage in our room so baskets for appliances etc in nearby cupboards.

Have never had one - don't wear makeup so all dressing is done standing up (I'm only 92)

We bought the ikea malm dressing table mentioned already for our daughter. She in turn passed her ikea micke desk to me and I use that as a dressing table in our room with a round velvet storage stool.

I couldn't imagine NOT having one. Mine is rarely tidy but this picture was when it was all just set up.

@Hereforthelaugh I have that one too! I'm in my early thirties and have had it for around 8 years I think. Just got a framed photo, mirror and vase on top. The ONE place in the entire house with just my stuff and none of the kids' bits and pieces lying around inside. I love it.
