To ask how many radiators you have in your house?

Just read a thread where someone has 16 in a 4 bed house, several people were shocked they had so many. So how many do you have and what size house?

3 bedroom 3 storey house here with 16 radiators so I don’t think the same amount in a 4 bed is a lot but maybe my house has above average number of radiators.

1 kitchen
1 downstairs wet room
2 living room
1 hallway downstairs
2 middle floor landing one each end hallway is long and wide 4mx2.5m
2 middle floor back bedroom
1 middle floor bathroom
1 middle floor front bedroom
1 3rd floor landing
2 3rd floor bedroom
1 en-suite
1 dressing room

8 in a 3 bed house.
One of those is a towel rail but heats the room in place of a radiator.

SeemingOKToday · 05/11/2022 18:09

I missed one, we have 14.

One inside the large built in cupboard in the bathroom, turns it into an airing cupboard.

That means we have 3 radiators inside our average sized bathroom! Never thought about that before, seems fairly excessive.

18 in a five bedroom. Some are small, some are very big. Most are doubles.

SwedishEdith · 05/11/2022 18:10

3-bed semi and just 5 plus 2 towel rails. We should have 2 more but they've never been reconnected after having walls skimmed.

HalfWower · 05/11/2022 18:11

11 in a 4 bed house.

KozmicBlue · 05/11/2022 18:11

9 in a 3-bed plus UFH in wetroom.

10 in a 3-storey 5-bed. Not enough now the weather has turned but apparently the previous owners went without til last year! Just had gas fires and plug-in heaters.

CaronPoivre · 05/11/2022 18:14

Trying to.count without moving. I think 28.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 05/11/2022 18:17

We moved last year and our 4 bed had 9 radiator’s

TimBoothseyes · 05/11/2022 18:18

6 in a 2 bed bungalow.
1 in each room and 1 in the hall.

PorridgewithQuark · 05/11/2022 18:21

11 in a 4/5 bed semi over four floors.

It's a slightly odd house (hence the 4/5 bedrooms - actually it could even be seen as 3 bedrooms, and two big rooms upstairs which possibly shouldn't technically be called bedrooms but are bigger than two of the definite bedrooms... We use it as a 4 bed + office). The walls are thick and it doesn't get too cold really, nor too hot in summer, except the attic bedroom.

XenoBitch · 05/11/2022 18:23

8, in a mid terrace 3 bed.

EnormousBulkhead · 05/11/2022 18:24

Omg 16 radiators is so greedy and entitled.

I used to have 20 but I ripped five of them off the walls with my bare hands just so that I wouldn't be taking up more than my fair share of radiators.

No wonder the NHS is on its knees.

chocolateoranges33 · 05/11/2022 18:25

9 in a 4 bed house.

2 in kitchen/diner
1 in hall
1 in lounge
4 in bedrooms (1 per room)
1 in bathroom

Downstairs loo & en suite don't have them.

ReadyForPumpkins · 05/11/2022 18:27

19 in a five bed. I’m shocked most have so few!

6 in 5 bedrooms
4 in 4 toilets/bathroom
1 upstairs landing
1 downstairs doorway
1 living room
1 dining room
2 in kitchen
1 in utility
2 conservatory

BEAM123 · 05/11/2022 18:32

8 in a 2 bed house, and they used to keep it toasty warm back in the days when I used the heating.

IfIGoThereWillBeTrouble · 05/11/2022 18:33

None at all in my one bed house - I don’t have central heating.

NCFT0922 · 05/11/2022 18:40

@EnormousBulkhead nearly spat out my tea 😂

AppleandSpice · 05/11/2022 18:41

16, five bed house.

Lcb123 · 05/11/2022 18:48

5 plus a towel rail (works off central heating and also electric) in a 2 bed flat. Discovered turning them all off apart from towel rail and in 1 bedroom (where laundry hangs) is a good solution to keep gas use down when heating on!
