Just read a thread where someone has 16 in a 4 bed house, several people were shocked they had so many. So how many do you have and what size house?

3 bedroom 3 storey house here with 16 radiators so I don’t think the same amount in a 4 bed is a lot but maybe my house has above average number of radiators.

1 kitchen
1 downstairs wet room
2 living room
1 hallway downstairs
2 middle floor landing one each end hallway is long and wide 4mx2.5m
2 middle floor back bedroom
1 middle floor bathroom
1 middle floor front bedroom
1 3rd floor landing
2 3rd floor bedroom
1 en-suite
1 dressing room

5 and a heated towel rail in a 2 bed flat:
Bedrooms x 1 each
Kitchen x 1
Lounge diner x 1
Hallway x 1

whatkatydid2013 · 05/11/2022 22:56

13 and 3 towel rails. 5 bed house

3 in living/kitchen/dining room (45m2)
2 in second living room which has a single glazed window so definitely needs them both (25m2)
1 in hall
1 in study
1 in utility
5 in bedrooms (1 each)
Towel rails in both bathrooms and downstairs toilet

I thought we had a lot so surprised people have same or more in smaller houses though I guess it also will depend on type/size how effective they are

1 per bedroom of 3
1 towel rad per bathroom of 2

15 in a 4/5 bed house - 5 rooms upstairs including two bathrooms, 2 in hall/landing and rest downstairs, one in every room, two in kitchen/diner.

TattiePants · 05/11/2022 23:52

15 (I think). 11 rooms / areas with 1 and 2 rooms with 2 plus 3 gas fires and underfloor heating in one bathroom. It’s a 4 bed semi

junecat · 05/11/2022 23:54

5 bed house. 12 radiators, 1 heated towel radiator, log burner and underfloor heating in main bathroom

FastFood · 05/11/2022 23:54

2 bed flat
5 radiators in total:
One in each bedroom, one in the living room, hallway and bathroom.
I generally use only one (living room)

7 in a 3 bed cottage but we also have 2 working fires. 1 each in:

Hallway
Bathroom
Dining Room
Sitting Room
3 bedrooms

There’s no landing to speak of and the kitchen doesn’t have one. It used to have an aga but now it has no heating but doesn’t need it. The house is pretty warm although will
be better when the ancient broken single glazing gets upgraded this year.

Our last house was underfloor heating downstairs and only had 4 in a very large 3 bed. It was boiling.

tactum · 06/11/2022 01:08
  1. 3 storey 5 bed house with underfloor heating on 2 floors, so the 9 cover the top floor 4 bedrooms n 3 bathrooms. But since kids have left we don't heat any of them!
FrightfullyFreezy · 06/11/2022 01:12

3 bed semi. We have one on each room, inc the downstairs loo, so 7 altogether. They're not on though!

LittleRedYarny · 06/11/2022 01:16

4 in a one bed flat.

EndersGame · 06/11/2022 09:09

Just done a count up

16 in a 4 bed house over 3 floors

SongforWhoever · 06/11/2022 10:24

Lots of people seem to have far more radiators than I do. My last house was a large period house with 3 downstairs reception rooms and 8 metre long hall and upstairs landing. I had 8 radiators.
My current house had 8 with the loft conversion but the downstairs extension has 4. It seems as if newer houses have more radiators.

KimberleyClark · 06/11/2022 10:29

9 in three bed semi

hall
living room
dining room
