To ask how many radiators you have in your house?

Just read a thread where someone has 16 in a 4 bed house, several people were shocked they had so many. So how many do you have and what size house?

3 bedroom 3 storey house here with 16 radiators so I don’t think the same amount in a 4 bed is a lot but maybe my house has above average number of radiators.

1 kitchen
1 downstairs wet room
2 living room
1 hallway downstairs
2 middle floor landing one each end hallway is long and wide 4mx2.5m
2 middle floor back bedroom
1 middle floor bathroom
1 middle floor front bedroom
1 3rd floor landing
2 3rd floor bedroom
1 en-suite
1 dressing room

I think about 35 radiators - 10 bed house

NeverDropYourMooncup · 05/11/2022 17:52

Five. One small one in living room area in the far corner, one medium right by the front door, one small tucked in the kitchen behind the wet room door and the back door. The entire downstairs is open plan, other than the glorified tiled cupboard that is the cold wet room.

One tiny one in both bedrooms, tucked behind the doors, thus ensuring that the main part of the rooms remain chilly from the windows and the cold drop from the loft hatch.

Nothing on the landing and two frankly useless towel rails - the wet room is effectively unusable because it is not far off larder temperature at all times of the year.

It gets pretty cold in here.

Purplecatshopaholic · 05/11/2022 17:53

Just counted. 13 in a four bed.

gogohmm · 05/11/2022 17:54

14, 3 bed townhouse. But they aren't on because it's still not cold here (sitting in a t shirt currently)

SuperlativeOxymoron · 05/11/2022 17:55

2 bed mid terrace
8 radiators, 1 in each room and then 2 in the hallway 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs.

Stripedbag101 · 05/11/2022 17:55

Four bed house, twelve radiators

Whoopsies · 05/11/2022 17:55

6 in a 3 bed semi.

1 living room
1 dining room
1 downstairs hallway
1 in each bedroom

Scoundrella · 05/11/2022 17:56

9 in a 4 bed house (3 floors)

gogohmm · 05/11/2022 17:56

Actually 14. Counted them in person

OhmygodDont · 05/11/2022 17:56

7 including a towel rail in a three bed semi.

JustAJokeLikeOnTopGear · 05/11/2022 17:57
  1. 5 bed house.
notdaddycool · 05/11/2022 17:58

7 in a 3 bed one is permanently off.

hairycabbage · 05/11/2022 17:59

26, many rooms have more than one
7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 05/11/2022 17:59

3 bed house, 10 radiators.

FourOclock · 05/11/2022 17:59

Five, but only 2-3 of them are in use. Fairly generous sized 3 bed semi but we have a wood burner and under floor heating

JaceLancs · 05/11/2022 17:59

3 bed semi
1 in each bedroom
1 in bathroom
1 in kitchen/diner
1 in lounge
6 in total
cloakroom and hallway don’t have a radiator
we actually only use 3 as none of us like bedrooms too warm
I would like one in hallway but got an estimate and was too expensive

AgentJohnson · 05/11/2022 18:00

None, we have underfloor heating. Would never go back to radiators, the only downside is our cat spread eagles herself wherever she feels like it because the floor is very toasty when the heatings on.

Sn0tnose · 05/11/2022 18:00

We have six in a one bed flat. Small ones in the hall, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom and two large ones in the living room.

pointythings · 05/11/2022 18:01

I have 8 - 4 bedroom house. One in each bedroom, 2 in the living room, one in the main bathroom, one in the downstairs hall.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 05/11/2022 18:02

I have 17 in a 4 bed house. I have 3 in my lounge! When we moved in, our lounge and diner was one big room and there were 5, and a log burner in the one room!
All probably hugely inefficient, two of the lounge ones will be going soon and the rooms are gradually being better insulated and therefore need fewer rads.

NCFT0922 · 05/11/2022 18:03

15 in total.

Underfloor heating on the lower ground floor so none there.
4 on the ground floor; one in the snug, one in the utility room, one in the toilet and one in the hallway.
4 on the first floor; 1 on the landing, 1 in DS1s bedroom, 1 in the boys bathroom and 1 in DS2s bedroom.
7 on the top floor; 1 on the landing, 1 in our bedroom, 1 in our en-suite, 1 in DDS room, 1 in her en-suite, 1 in the nursery and 1 in the nursery en-suite.

RJnomore1 · 05/11/2022 18:04

14 in a 4 bed house, plus an electric heater in the conservatory so 16 sounds about right to me.

longtompot · 05/11/2022 18:04

Four bed house, we currently have 8. We will eventually have about 10

TrickyD · 05/11/2022 18:05

5 beds, 3 floors 20 radiators, underfloor heating in conservatory, open fire most winter evenings in sitting room. Huge bill.

Hadjab · 05/11/2022 18:06

12 in a five bed semi
