To ask how many radiators you have in your house?

Just read a thread where someone has 16 in a 4 bed house, several people were shocked they had so many. So how many do you have and what size house?

3 bedroom 3 storey house here with 16 radiators so I don’t think the same amount in a 4 bed is a lot but maybe my house has above average number of radiators.

1 kitchen
1 downstairs wet room
2 living room
1 hallway downstairs
2 middle floor landing one each end hallway is long and wide 4mx2.5m
2 middle floor back bedroom
1 middle floor bathroom
1 middle floor front bedroom
1 3rd floor landing
2 3rd floor bedroom
1 en-suite
1 dressing room

4 bed, 3 stories. We have underfloor heating downstairs so that cuts down the number.

4 in bedrooms
2 on landings
1 in the utility room
Possibly 1 in the top floor storage room but I can't remember and cba to go up to check
We also have a heated towel rails in each toilet/bathroom so that's another 4.

So 11 or 12 (depending on the storage room)

The ones on the top floor are usually turned off though as we don't go up there much.

Currently 6 radiators in a 3 bed house, but we moved in knowing the house needed a lot of work. We are about the start renovating and upgrading the heating is top of the priority list. It's freezing!! There's no radiator in the master bedroom or kitchen, or the separate toilet which is always freezing.

Think it's sometimes about quality not quantity though, right?! We have old, single panel and not very efficient radiators. Modern radiators give out a lot more heat.

None, just a log burner in the lounge.

zukiecat · 05/11/2022 18:51

Seven in a two bed maisonette.

One in living room, hallway, kitchen, one in each bedroom, one in bathroom and one at the bottom of the stairs.

Nectarpeach · 05/11/2022 18:55

8, 4 bedroom, 3 floor house. One in each bedroom, one in the living room, dining room, bathroom and kitchen.

Mentalpiece · 05/11/2022 18:55

That didn't seem to come out right.
Four bedroom bungalow. I have 14 radiators in total.

CharliesFallenAngel · 05/11/2022 18:57

I have nine in a four-bed. One each in:
kitchen
living room
dining room
hall
4 bedrooms
1 bathroom

Exactly the same as this

Babdoc · 05/11/2022 18:58

Nine in a four bed, but also have underfloor heating instead in part of it and and an open fire in the sitting room.

Isthisforeal · 05/11/2022 19:00

20, not enough, bloody freezing, particularly bathrooms. Only warm room is kitchen, we a have the thing that shall not be named.

RedRiverShore2 · 05/11/2022 19:05

8 in 3 bed house plus electric heater in downstairs toilet which is not on the central heating

Lemoncurd · 05/11/2022 19:05

6 + 3 towel radiators, 1 in each room, but we only have them upstairs.

Duchess379 · 05/11/2022 19:05
  1. 4 bed detached..
jetadore · 05/11/2022 19:08

Christ, what a boring thread.

MrsDThomas · 05/11/2022 19:09

1 kitchen
2 living room
1 hallway
4 bedrooms
2 bathrooms
1 study

11 , 4 bed detached cottage

CandyFloss35 · 05/11/2022 19:10

There seems a big mix here but reading through I think 8 is average for a 3 bed house. I wonder if new build have more compared to older houses, ours was built in 2017 so 5 years old.

9 in a 3 bed semi

Vicliz24 · 05/11/2022 19:13

10 in a four bed four reception house.

Lozzybear · 05/11/2022 19:15

We have a five bed house but the whole of the ground floor has underfloor heating. Upstairs there are six radiators plus three heated towel rails. I actually hate radiators. Much prefer downstairs where we can put our furniture where we want.

Titsflyingsouth · 05/11/2022 19:16

9, and underfloor heating in the extension. 3 bed detached house. They do the job.

MochaHoldTheMilkAndCoffee · 05/11/2022 19:17

16 in a four bed, four reception house plus two wood burners. House is well insulated though so most are on a low setting
