Mine averages at 50-53 bpm
I have been told this is very low! But Not sure why.
How do you know if its a problem?
I dont have any other health concerns and am pretty active but not excessive or overly at the gym every day kind of person

My Fitbit says mine is in the high 50s when I first wake on a morning and I'm not fit by any stretch!

A GP did once comment on my low resting HR about 20yrs ago and I'm still fine now, so hopefully it's nothing to worry about!

XenoBitch · 02/11/2022 20:25

Is Fitbit anxiety a thing?
More people seem to be obsessed with the numbers, and anxious about them, when it is being monitored all the time.

I do not have a Fitbit or similar. My GP is wanting me to monitor my blood pressure for a week (got given a machine), and I am obsessed and anxious over it. In the space of days, I have been in hypertensive crisis to low blood pressure.... I can't stop checking it and obsessing.

kimchifix · 02/11/2022 20:25

Unfit and it's 65 but it was around 60 when I was younger, lighter and fitter! I'm 49. Some days it's higher than that but overnight it can be 58 - I don't usually wear the watch at night though.

RainbowCat26 · 02/11/2022 20:26

Mine is 60, I’m obese but I have been walking a lot to lose weight. Before I started walking it was up at 85!

resipsa · 02/11/2022 20:27

Mine is in the range 45-55. I'm active but not an athlete by any standard. I am usually hypotensive too. I suffer with Raynaulds on top. Assume it's all related but nothing to be done...

2020firsttimemum · 02/11/2022 20:27

My partners sometimes dips to about 37 but is generally about 40-45

He's by no means an athlete but apparently no issues with heart! He's 33

Siriusmuggle · 02/11/2022 20:27

Mine’s 48-53 ish. I’m 47 and fairly fit, I train 5-7 days a week.

SchoolQuestionnaire · 02/11/2022 20:30

Mine is 50 - 52. Overweight 43 year old - far from an athlete but I exercise regularly. When I was slimmer it sat between 42 and 45. My bp is low also but it’s never been a concern as it’s always been the same. Although it was commented on during my pregnancies and whenever I got a different nurse for my pill check. I’ve had no adverse symptoms except that I can feel lightheaded when I stand up too quickly.

RedRiverShore2 · 02/11/2022 20:30

I had to take my Apple Watch off for a couple of days when I had Covid because I was getting quite worked up about my higher heart rate which I think made it worse, my heart felt fine in itself and if I hadn't had my watch on I wouldn't have known it was high

SoggyBananaLoaf · 02/11/2022 20:31

52, fat, unfit. RHR usually 52. I wasnt allowed out of hospital once because of my ridiculously low resp rate. I'm a bit like a horse!

runjy · 02/11/2022 20:31

@ShinyPikachu what condition is that can I ask?

Lmgify · 02/11/2022 20:32

Mine is usually around 60, I am lean and mid 30s. When I was pregnant with my second my resting heart rate was around 100. When I had covid whilst pregnant it went up to 150bpm. I was surprised at how much it could vary

Boxin · 02/11/2022 20:33

60ish.
mid thirties and active.

Loserluck · 02/11/2022 20:34

Mine is about 57-59 I very unfit though so I don’t know why. Sometimes I feel my heart racing/ pounding and when I measure it, it’s only about 70….

Crotonifolia · 02/11/2022 20:34

Generally around the upper 50s-lower 60s. Sometimes it randomly shoots up to 150+ but those episodes don't last long, and aren't very frequent. Family history of SVTs has made me a but more aware of it. Something to keep an eye on maybe.

AsTreesWalking · 02/11/2022 20:34

55 consistently since my teens. I'm 57, and not at all fit. Since I had covid (badly) it goes up to 80s very easily, and that's very uncomfortable and makes me feel faint, but because it's within 'normal' no one thinks it's a problem.

runjy · 02/11/2022 20:34

pregnancy does normally cause an increase as you have extra blood to push around.

SoundMachine · 02/11/2022 20:34

My fitbit says my RHR averages about 55. I've noticed my heart rate increases for about 24 hours after alcohol, and also premenstrually, these are the 2 things that seem to make the most difference.

Loserluck · 02/11/2022 20:34

I also breathe very sparsely, way way lower than they say you should…..

MrsKrankyPants · 02/11/2022 20:35

65 do a lot of cardio HIIT. Turning 40 soon.

Cornishclio · 02/11/2022 20:36

My resting heart beat is between 57 and 62. I am a 62 year old female and very active. My Fitbit says I have an excellent cardio fitness score for my age so I don't think you should worry if yours is low.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 02/11/2022 20:37

Mine is 52-55 rises to 60ish if fighting off a cold etc.
Im 67 and very active.

blueshoes · 02/11/2022 20:38

80 - early 50s, active but not particularly fit, normal BMI.

My resting heart rate has always been on the high side. No GP has ever commented on it.

Mezmer · 02/11/2022 20:39

55 🙌

Beginningless · 02/11/2022 20:42

Mine is similar to yours, I’ve always been like this and not been consistently fit. My family members also have low bp, it’s more genetic than fitness for us I imagine.
