Mine averages at 50-53 bpm
I have been told this is very low! But Not sure why.
How do you know if its a problem?
I dont have any other health concerns and am pretty active but not excessive or overly at the gym every day kind of person

According to my Fitbit mine is around 50-52 and I was worried it was low too. I do exercise but am not super fit by any stretch of the imagination!

Badger1970 · 02/11/2022 20:10

Mine is usually 58 to 60 (fattie aged 52).

DH's varies as he's got AF so can be anything from 50 to 180.... he was told to go into A & E if his dropped below 50 for any long periods of time.

ShinyPikachu · 02/11/2022 20:11

Mine is 72bpm at the moment. I have a heart condition which means it can often go between 100-175bpm and I'm checking regularly to make sure my medication is still working as the doctor said he may want to change it if it stops working so well.

Clickta · 02/11/2022 20:11

During the day, average resting is around 42.

At night it drops as low as 36.

I'm fairly fit but not an athlete, it's just naturally low I think. I can't go on rides at themeparks as I faint. Standing up quickly makes me go blind for a few seconds!

Itsabitnotcold · 02/11/2022 20:11

63 according to fitbit. It was 42 when I was fit.

Medoca · 02/11/2022 20:14

60, but can go up ridiculously when I’m exercising to the point where the gym person was worried! I told him it’s always been this way, I wasn’t even out of breath! My blood pressure is very low, so not sure if that affects things.

moggerhanger · 02/11/2022 20:14

Mine's 50ish - maybe a smidge higher since I caught Long Covid and got less fit! When I was running a lot it could be as low as 45. But it's always been low, I think it's the luck of the genetic draw.

Allthegoodusernamesareused · 02/11/2022 20:14

Mine is 69.. I'm mid 40's, slightly overweight and moderately active.

AssignedSlytherinAtBirth · 02/11/2022 20:06

I've just tested mine and it's 74. I'm sure it's faster than it used to be, before I had Covid.

Mine went up with all three vaccines and with Covid and took two or three weeks to get back to normal, I had covid 2-3 weeks ago and it still might be a tad high but getting back to normal now

Hedonism · 02/11/2022 20:15

Mine is somewhere around 50bpm usually, give or take. My blood pressure is on the low side as well.

DemBonesDemBones · 02/11/2022 20:16

Mine is consistently 100-120 at the moment. Not good.

newtolineofduty · 02/11/2022 20:16

Didn't want to read and run as I had this recently and really panicked!!! I went to the doctors (mines 56-60) and they ended up doing an ECG which was normal (just checks for any blockages). They concluded that some people just have a lower heart rate than average but it's not concerning in my case although I guess might be in others. They said they'd be more concerned by low-mid 40s. If I were you I'd go to the docs and request an ECG for reassurance. Sorry if someone has already given you this advice I've not had chance to read the whole thread x

Concerned for you re going blind for a second when you stand up...advise you consult a medical professional / GP if you haven't already.

greenacrylicpaint · 02/11/2022 20:17

before covid it was in the low 50s
after covid it's between 45-48.

dr not concerned (yet)

dementedpixie · 02/11/2022 20:20

My Samsung watch says my resting heart rate is in the low 50s. I'm late 40s and fat but go to gym classes regularly. Think that if you exercise regularly your resting heart rate can get lower as the heart becomes more efficient.

FemaleEngineer · 02/11/2022 20:20

I'm a couch potato 50 year old - resting heart rate 54 according to my watch.

But I am have both an under active thyroid and dodgy heart valves.

Macbeth8 · 02/11/2022 20:20

Ah ok so its not that low compared to other women on here..and older. I'm 35.
And yes Im going off my Fitbit
However, I was hospitalised a year ago for alcohol posioning. They had me monitored and didnt discharge me because they said heart rate was very low.
They had rung dh and asked him if it was normal. They asked if I was an ex or current Athlete which im not! Took them ages to discharge me! When they finally figured it was just my normal RHR
I didnt think much of it until I joined a fitness club recently and had to put all my stats in and PT commented it was a low RHR and if I had any heart issues.
Thinking if its worth seeing the GP.
the current state of local health centre I dont want to make a special trip

Worth seeing the GP :) best to check?

Tequilamockinbird · 02/11/2022 20:22

Mine can vary hugely between 60-120 ish but I have a tachycardia.

ohforthelife · 02/11/2022 20:22

According to my Fitbit my average resting is 51. I wouldn't say I'm an athlete by any stretch but I do brisk walks daily. When I've not been as active it's been average around 56.

VaddaABeetch · 02/11/2022 20:23

Age 53, 48 to 52. I’m very fit.

GreyTS · 02/11/2022 20:23

I'm 44 and mine is 52, drops below 40 sometimes, In fact I don't wear my Apple Watch to bed because it sometimes buzzes me awake because it's fallen too low. Have had various tests and doctors say it's because I'm very fit and it's definitely lower the higher my V02 max goes. I'm not convinced though, I think there's something else going on, what I have no idea 🤷‍♀️

Ethelfromnumber73 · 02/11/2022 20:25

Mines 46. I'm 47yo and quite active. It has been noted by HCPs but they don't seem to be worried as long as I feel okay
