To not solve 13 year olds Halloween fancy dress

fruitstick · 28/10/2022 16:23

DS needs a costume for tomorrow.

Nothing I have suggested is suitable.

I can't do anything about Amazon delivery times

We are skint.

I can't sew.

DS is upset but I've said he needs to be creative.

However - if you have any great free ideas I'll take 'em.

At 13 he shouldn't need a Halloween costume

iamq 37 year old lion today!!

Blueemeraldagain · 28/10/2022 17:33

😂 The idea of the majority of teenagers at a house party leaving to go trick or treating is ridiculously naive. Unless people are handing out cider and Bacardi breezers instead of sweet these days.

Our local Facebook page is talking about T&T on Saturday rather than on Monday. And if Halloween is only on Monday why are so many people having parties this weekend?

Cos people always have Halloween parties on the weekend nearest Halloween!

Trick or treating is for actual Halloween only. And you don't have to answer the door anyway!

MumofSpud · 28/10/2022 17:36

My DD is going to a Halloween party tonight?!

When DS was a cub he went in old jeans and an old white T-shirt that I splattered with Poundshop blood and slashed with scissors
Cost:£1

When I collected him he said that there was a competition for the best costume but he wasn't allowed to enter as it was only for those wearing home made costumes Grin

White sheet, large white t-shirt, safety pins, and sandals make a Roman. For a laurel wreath, sew or staple rhododendron leaves to a ribbon long enough to tie around your head.

Because teen/adult parties tend to happen at the weekend and not on a school night obviously. Trick or treating will be Monday

He should go in his normal clothes and tell them he's a serial killer.

Nah. A cereal killer. Covers himself in cereal boxes.

Multipleexclamationmarks · 28/10/2022 17:41

Mine of similar age has found an old white t-shirt and written on it "error 404 Halloween costume not found" I thought it was hilarious 😂

musicviking1 · 28/10/2022 17:41

I get some green hair spray from the supermarket/poundland and do something with a white shirt to become a zombie or Joker.

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 28/10/2022 17:42

Lindy2 · 28/10/2022 17:06

My 14 year old us wearing normal clothes and pouring a bottle of 99p fake blood over her head.

We're all going to a party and she'll also be trick or treating with her younger sister and some friends.

People who want to have fun for Halloween are allowed to regardless of their age!

Just to warn you, my DD poured fake blood over her head and covered her arms and legs etc with it. It stained, despite showering that night and twice the next day, and she had to go to school like it last year!!

Waveacrossabay · 28/10/2022 17:44

Do bruises with makeup. Dead easy

If they are, I'm going trick or treating. Can you still get Bacardi Breezers? I loved them!

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 28/10/2022 17:46

@Theimpossiblegirl I found them on holiday in Greece this year and was so excited! I had to buy one of each flavour and just the smell on opening made me feel 16 again 🙃

shuuush · 28/10/2022 17:48

Variety pack of cereal pinned to his clothes and some fake blood thrown over the boxes he's a cereal killer

oakleaffy · 28/10/2022 17:53

TurtleTriplets · 28/10/2022 16:26

get a box, decorate it as an electricity bill and pop it over his head.

😂👏Epic!!

Horrific! I hate dressed up kids knocking at my door unless they're under 5.

Gosh what a kill joy...is xmas and easter the same policy. My 10yr old loves haloween and dressing up.. shame you would hate him knocking on your door but I guess his 5yr old sister just makes your grade

grey12 · 28/10/2022 17:59

My friend once had a brilliant costume!!!! She was a spider!!! Black clothes and then cheap black thighs filled with random crap hanging off a string (glued!).

Check online. Trust me! It looks amazing!

Objectionhearsayspeculation · 28/10/2022 17:59

We are skint this year so went with homemade although we are Halloween mad all year! I have one dd (12) in a white dress of mine from when I was significantly slimmer and a repurposed food cover net thingy and a bunch of dead flowers nicked from the garden as the Corpse Bride. The other is Sally from NBC with a random assortment of fabrics glued on an old summer dress and stitches drawn on with what I hope isn't sharpie. My nephew is a werewolf made out of spudbags and makeup (and what his mum also hopes isn't sharpie). I'm still ill after having Covid but I was planning on being Winnie Sanderson because I have a green medieval type dress that I could have got away with and unknown to DH he was going to be a pirate with some face paints and scarves we have anyway (he's probably relieved I'm still feeling crap!)

Toilet paper mummy?

This gets my vote! Comparatively cheap and so much fun. Just don't go out in the rain...

SpookyPanda · 28/10/2022 18:03

Loo roll - mummy

It's his issue though.

JaneJeffer · 28/10/2022 18:06

Black clothes, ninja T-shirt mask www.instructables.com/How-to-make-the-BEST-ninja-mask/. Done.

user1492809438 · 28/10/2022 18:08

Black Tshirt and jogging bottoms. Masking tape on the clothes so he looks like a skeleton. Some sphagetti dyed pink with paint or food dye ....bucket of worms!

Spinningaround18 · 28/10/2022 18:12

Saw this today and thought it was really cheap and clever!

Mercedesbenz2022 · 28/10/2022 18:14
