We live in the south and I’m insisting we don’t put the heating on until it gets properly cold. It’s 15 degrees overnight at the moment!!!

DP disagrees and wants it on

have you put yours on yet?

19 degrees in london this afternoon.

MrsJamieDornan · 27/10/2022 21:15

Yawn. And how is it an AIBU? Obviously no one is unreasonable for not heating a house if it's not cold.

cinnabongene · 27/10/2022 21:16

Jesus I’d be dead if we put the heating on right now. It’s currently 20 degrees in our house, after being 21 today. It’s going to be 17 overnight. I’ve just flung all the windows wide open to try and cool it down for bedtime

SoftSheen · 27/10/2022 21:17

No. It's been 18-20C in our house most of the time, so no need for heating. I don't usually put it on until it drops to 17C anyway.

gamerchick · 27/10/2022 21:17

I'm still in strappy tops me it's that mild. Tell him to put a jumper on if he's cold.

A580Hojas · 27/10/2022 21:21

Live in London. Have had the heating on for a few hours here and there earlier in the month but atm it's really warm! I was out today in town and so many people were sat outside having lunch without coats (including me) it was blissful!

MyPenIsHuge · 27/10/2022 21:24

18 degrees indoors with no heating right now so absolutely not

Bigslippers · 27/10/2022 21:27

Yes for the last week I put on for 30 mins in the evening just to take the chill out.
I open the windows in the day but like to be cosy in evening.
Im a freezer and despite a thick fleece can ‘smell’ cold air

DWMoosmum · 27/10/2022 21:35

Hope, not yet. We're in the midlands so pretty central but its still chilly. We just wrap up in extra layers but I know there will come a time when its unbearable.

Our friends came last week and my friend was chilly. I offered to put the heating on but she insisted not to, so we didn't. Can't exactly ask our friends to wrap up in layers though. I remember going to a friends years ago and it was so cold my lips went blue, standard for me when the temp drops below 15degrees, but I didn't mention it. Didn't rush back there haha, and now were all in the same boat.

We've been away this week and definitely made the most of having hot showers and having the hearting on, it's been lovely.

girlfriend44 · 27/10/2022 21:47

No heating on yet.

Dunnoburt · 27/10/2022 21:54

Nar.....Still got two fans going at the end of the bed 🙆

DimplesToadfoot · 27/10/2022 21:55

Not yet, I haven't felt the need to, but if my GD was to say she was cold then I'd whack it on, I just looked at the weather on my phone and Wednesday is forecast as being 12⁰ so it might go on then.

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 27/10/2022 21:57

Mines on a thermostat and has only come on once so far this autumn. Even my parents - who have their house much warmer than mine, haven't had it on yet but only because it's not been cold enough. Imo we're def still in "another layer is enough" territory.

KangarooKenny · 27/10/2022 21:59

I’ve put it on for an hour or two three times so far. Really trying not to.

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 27/10/2022 22:00

I don’t personally feel cold enough and as three out of five of us are in T-shirts I think the family agrees!

Halstead · 27/10/2022 22:04

Why would you have your heating on overnight anyway?

Halstead · 27/10/2022 22:06

(Regardless of temperature, I mean)

DanielRicciardosSmile · 27/10/2022 22:10

Not on here. I usually try to wait until the clocks go back anyway (because I'm too lazy to reset the clock on the timer) but it's too warm this year. Apart from the odd evening here and there, no one's even needed a jumper yet.

gogohmm · 27/10/2022 22:11

No because it's warm, my bedroom right now is 19 degrees and heating hasn't been on since early April. We will put it on when the temperature drops, we aren't martyrs

mondaytosunday · 27/10/2022 22:12

I'm in London and it was really mild today. It's 16 now but my back doors are open and I'm sitting here with a sleeveless top on!
Tell your hubby to put on a jumper.

catchthedog · 27/10/2022 22:14

thermostat set at 18 and it's been turning itself on for half an hour ish per day for the last 4 weeks here (NE eng)

Dacadactyl · 27/10/2022 22:17

No idea what temperature it is here but we've not put ours on yet.

We see in the North and I usually feel the cold but it feels really quite warm still to me.

VestaTilley · 27/10/2022 22:17

No way - it was 19 here today!

We’re holding off for as long as we can anyway; when we do put it on it’ll be on timed for short stints in the morning and at DS’s bath/bedtime.

I don't need it but my last washing load smells musty after taking so long to dry so it's going on tomorrow to dry the washing
