Would you vote conservative again?

I wouldn’t vote conservative again after the total shambles that have been the last 12 years. They’re constantly infighting rather than sorting out the economy and have left the NHS in a total mess. No care for people suffering from the cost of living crisis

Some voters do that.

Some voters just "vote blue"

And some just "vote red". It works both ways

It's terribly depressing but I'll vote for the only party against self ID and that's the Tories

I'm against self ID but it's just one issue and the Tories are literally destroying the country. It's not worth the damage and they will likely change their tune at some point anyway as that's what they do.

Labour want to erase hard won women’s sex-based rights so they will not get my vote.

If you think the Tories give a shiny shit about women's rights you're incredibly naive.

KimberleyClark · 22/10/2022 13:36

No. Never have.

Do they actually have an ‘official tune’? You’d think you’d have evidence of something tangible if the party in power was against self ID.

What's your AIBU?

Mammyloveswine · 22/10/2022 13:43

I mean I'm a card carrying member of the Labour Party so have never and would never vote for the tories

roarfeckingroarr · 22/10/2022 15:01

@ilovesooty oh we do. I've been a party member most of my life. I've voted for them every time. All my friends are similarly depressed at the absolute state of affairs.

I'm sure you would be voting for them again anyway, regardless of self ID issues and regardless of their performance over the last 12 years.

Grapewrath · 22/10/2022 15:18

Never have, now absolutely never will. Embarrassing.

Muminabun · 22/10/2022 15:45

Yes. Better than Labour despite being shambolic. The left is now far left and I don’t like identity politics or socialism.

Mardyface · 22/10/2022 16:36

I would love to know how exactly the Tories are better than Labour right now but you're not allowed to use the words woke or lefties.

Labour have plenty of policies - they won't give details of manifesto promises till nearer an election as the tories nick the popular ones. what a load of bollocks.

So they don’t tell us what their policies are because the conservatives will nick them? If you actually believe that you’re deluded. If those policies are out there somewhere then they’re ripe for the picking or do you think that the tori party can’t find out what the policies are even though you apparently can? Get real.

If labour want to be taken seriously then they need to start talking publicly about what they will do, not griping about what the government shouldn’t be doing. Keir Starmer looks like a complete incompetent at the moment who doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing.

You can’t expect people to take the Labour Party seriously if they tell you that twitter holds the answers.

Go and look at the Labour website.
Go listen to interviews with labour politicians.
Follow them on social media.
Don't just say its bollocks because its not in majority of newspapers.

It is all out there and becoming more detailed as we get closer to the next election.

When I say torys nick the ideas I mean things like the windfall tax. Definitely weren't going to do it - then they decided they when they realised people agreed with labour.

Because the tories are corrupt, splintered, inept and devoid of any talent.

That instantly makes 90% of any the other parties better than them.

Those of us with mortgages are soon to get hundreds of reasons a month not to vote Conservative again aren't we? Unless we've remortgaged already and already have to find hundreds of pounds extra every month because of them.

This is very true… My partner and I can just about afford our mortgage, sadly I don’t think we will be able to be home owners for long due to the costs of the mortgage rising, bills rising, (we can’t even afford central heating this year!). I look at the future with uncertainty and fear.

I generally don’t understand people who vote for tories, especially when they are struggling like I am… It just blows my mind how determined people are to vote for them. I genuinely think they could murder someone in broad daylight and people would still vote them in. How many people are going to die this year because they can’t afford to heat their houses?

I haven’t even bothered signing that petition to bring an election in sooner, because that’s how little faith I have in the British general public to actually vote for change…

Also those suggesting voting in Lib Dems might as well be voting in conservatives… Remember what happened last time last time they got the majority of the vote? (Conservatives took over, and Nick Cleg was never heard from again)

If your not voting Labour, then you are voting conservative.

Yes Labour isn’t perfect, but what party is. The way I see it, it’s not a popularity test, I’m not voting for the person I like more,
or the party I like more, or the most charismatic. I’m voting for the party who is most likely going to improve my living situation. (THIS IS NOT CONSERVATIVES!)

My hope is that by the time the next general election comes around people will see sense (although I have little faith this will actually happen 🙄)

I agree @Cornettoninja . I was wondering why the pp said they would vote conservative because they were better than Labour.

FixundFoxi · 22/10/2022 19:23

@roarfeckingroarr so you know that most tory MPs voted against or abstained on a vote to allow buffer zones around abortion clinics recently ? Something that affects possibly millions of ordinary women ?

vipersputpaidtomylastusername · 22/10/2022 09:41

Would never vote labour so would vote tactically to keep them out. So yes I would - even though the last few months have been woeful.

Last 12 years

Blossomtoes · 22/10/2022 19:31

The NHS has been in a mess for a long time, including when they were under Labour and the coalition. Until it’s sorted from management down, nothing will change

Completely untrue.

Murdoch1949 · 22/10/2022 19:36

Good god, I would never vote Tory, do not have friends who are Tories. Consider Tories to be mainly racist, uncaring, selfish fools. But that's just me.

Blossomtoes · 22/10/2022 19:38

The time for the Labour Party to reveal its policies is when a GE is called and its manifesto is published. The Tories just steal them otherwise because they have no ideas of their own.

Effic · 22/10/2022 19:56

Mardyface
in 2019 Labour has a clear manifesto which set out the party belief and direction under Corbin. The electorate absolutely rejected this. Boris did not deliver a ‘landslide’ Conservative victory ….. Corbin did.
2 years later Labour is now saying that that everything they assured the public was right is now wrong, they don’t believe that and they have a new direction / leader / set of ideas …. But we aren’t going to tell you it all yet in case the nasty Tories steal our ideas!!! They need to get a grip, set out their manifesto and if it’s good enough, they’ll win

FixundFoxi · 22/10/2022 20:06

@Effic it's Corbyn ? And for the record the Conservatives did pilfer many of labours ideas.

Willyoujustbequiet · 22/10/2022 20:09

Never again. But then I feel I've grown up and become a half decent person.

Mardyface · 22/10/2022 20:10

@Effic How is that telling me exactly how the Tories are better than Labour currently? A lack of announced manifesto 2 years before an election Vs having completely fucked the economy, providing zero public services and disappearing up its own arse while it tries to bring a corrupt criminal back as its leader? Again: what is better about the Tories right now?
