Could the hospital have been wrong?

Hi all,

I'm 36 weeks pregnant.

Just a bit of advice please so yesterday from dinner time I was having period like pains in my back and lower part of my belly and they seem to happen every day 20 minutes so I called the maternity unit because I'm having a elcs and they told me to come in and check me over - they checked me over, there was some mild tightening but my cervix was closed and it was deemed not to be labour, doctor thought it might be baby moving around and stretching my uterus, midwife thought it might be braxton hicks - which was fine I didn't want baby coming yet anyway but it's been happening all through the night and is still happening and it's way more painful than yesterday so I was wondering could they have been wrong?

Should I keep an eye on it? I'm just worried as I don't want to leave it too long and not have a c section but don't want to waste their time again so just thought I'd ask here in case anyone had any advice.

The situation has changed. When you went in to be checked, they said you were fine but the tightening have increased and pain intensified. I would call up and tell them that and they'll probably ask you come back in again. You're not telling them they are wrong, but rather asking them to re-assess. Good luck op.

RTFT She has had the baby!

Aw Congratulations op, you’ve made a grumpy menopausal woman smile this morning. Worth it for that alone 😁

ancientgran · 26/10/2022 11:02

Things might have moved on since they saw you so it isn't about them being wrong at that moment but they could have been right as it was too early to tell what was starting. I'd go back, pregnancy and labour doesn't always follow the rules.

Good luck, hope all goes well.

BIWI · 26/10/2022 11:02

FFS @ancientgran why not bother actually reading the thread?!

ancientgran · 26/10/2022 11:03

FFS @ancientgran why not bother actually reading the thread?!

Because before I got to the end I wanted to advise her it was best to go back.

Why don't you bother to learn how to interact with people without being so aggressive?
