Isn't he a serving MP for Uxbridge?

Parliament is in session and there was a 3 line whip 2 nights ago.

How come he is in a luxury hotel in the Caribbean on holiday? What is he doing for his constituents and democracy on a tropical beach? Don't MPs take their holidays when Parliament is not session?

Is this just another example of Boris doing his own thing and making his own rules?

Not sure if MP's are off when parliment isn't sitting , maybe they have an annual leave entitlement like the rest of us

You don't your assuming same as we don't know its true but he def did look ill and his stance changed , so I would say he was def ill with it, how bad who knows , but all those claiming its a lie don't know either , yet make out like its a fact

He didn’t know he was on holiday. He can’t tell the difference between being at work and being at an illegal party, how can he be expected to spot the difference between a Caribbean beach and the Houses of Parliament?

Not excusing Boris’s behaviour at all, but most constituency MPs carry on working on behalf of their constituency even when parliament is in recess. They hold surgery’s, deal with correspondence from and act for their those in their constituency in all sorts of matters. Unlike teachers who mainly take the holidays as holidays. So while I understand the comparison, I’m not sure it’s valid. My local MP is often most visible when parliament is in recess as she’s in her constituency not London, which I believe is what’s supposed to happen! So, of course, it’s probably better they take holidays when parliament is not sitting, but I can see why they wouldn’t always.

Whatever you think of the man, he's allowed to go on a family holiday. It's called "annual leave".

I went on holiday to the Caribbean earlier in the year so I'm sure BJ is allowed to as well.

Key duties for MPs: go to the House of Commons. Listen to debates. Take part if you have anything useful to say. Vote. Sit on committees. Listen to the evidence given and ask questions.

Not a single one of those can be done from a beach resort in the Caribbean on the way back from lucrative speaking engagements.

Teachers don't get annual leave, they do set days like MPs. They get twice as many weeks off.

MPs don't gave annual leave, however, as corrupt as everything else in parliament they get paid whether they turn up or nit which is farcical.

Can you imagine trying to design a performance management system for MPs? What a nightmare.

MPs do however work when parliament is sitting, unlike teachers who don’t work when term is finished. So I am less bothered by an MP taking a holiday during ‘term’ time than I m a teacher doing the same.

Teachers definitely do work when term is over! And they get paid a whole load less for their jobs than MPs do!!
