Why is Boris on holiday?

diian · 21/10/2022 08:25

Isn't he a serving MP for Uxbridge?

Parliament is in session and there was a 3 line whip 2 nights ago.

How come he is in a luxury hotel in the Caribbean on holiday? What is he doing for his constituents and democracy on a tropical beach? Don't MPs take their holidays when Parliament is not session?

Is this just another example of Boris doing his own thing and making his own rules?

He didn't do anything wrong, not really. He just had a few lockdown parties - didn't we all -

No. We didn't see family.
Others didn't see dying relatives.

He is the only prime minister to have a criminal conviction while in government.

He didn't just break the laws that most people followed he actually lied repeatedly about doing so.

JabberwockyPie · 21/10/2022 14:22

I don't really care about partygate. They're all liars one way or another. What's important is who, out of a shoddy bunch, should lead going forward.

I didn't see my adult kids for fucking months, I hate people saying we all broke the rules.
And remember the Queen sitting on her own at Philips funeral. She didn't either. And nor did my friend who was expected to sit apart from her teenage children at their fathers funeral.

Short memories some people.

Ah this explains it. Perhaps only people with low personal moral standards are the people who are happy with Boris.

No, I didn't break the law. Somehow I was able to get by without throwing or attending any parties. Somehow I thought that trying to keep myself and my family as safe as possible and not potentially putting extra stress on the overworked NHS staff was more important than having a few drinks with my mates.

When his DM died did he take any Rome off? Or when his DC were recently born? Maybe he did I don't know I just remembered as pm he was missing for a day or so and his sister said our DM has died? Maybe he has banked some holiday?
. whatever you think of the man a lot happened to him in two year's including nearly dying from covid.

I don't know why anyone wants the pm role!!
I certainly think he needs a break.

I would also say this were it Tony Blair who I also detest.

Has the country gone fucking mad???

So what if he nearly died? Maybe if he hadnt disregarded the social distancing rules his Government was telling the whole country to follow he would not have got Covid??

FFS this is the man who was insistent on shaking hands with covid patients and medical staff.

jetadore · 22/10/2022 08:24

Leave the poor guy alone if anyone deserves a luxury holiday it’s him after all those years of hard work and service as PM. Especially with the cost of living crisis and the economy tanking, the fact he’s having a good time should serve as a great boost to the nation’s morale. Boris, what a legend.

mivona · 22/10/2022 09:14

fb.watch/gjnMa5wqGq/

That Led by Donkeys video has been updated to include his time as PM.

It is astonishing at anyone could even consider his return to office simply so they could be amused by his bumbling buffoonery schtick.

This is about governing the country, not some fucking personality cult.

Soozikinzii · 22/10/2022 09:19

If we took a holiday in term time it would be instantly dismissal and rightly so . How is this even allowed when parliament is in session?

Lol because they aren’t teachers, when parliament is in recess it’s so they can work every day In their constiuencies. They aren’t on holiday when parliament is in recess!

Soozikinzii · 22/10/2022 10:10

Well even so how can he be on holiday now ?

Anniefrenchfry · 22/10/2022 10:13

What do you mean how can he be on holiday. Like Anyone else not in education he gets to pick when he has his vacation ? I was on holiday two weeks ago . It’s a normal thing to do.

Does he work every day in his constituency though?

ginghamstarfish · 22/10/2022 10:24

I'm amazed he would want to be PM again, thought he would be thrilled to be on the very lucrative 'speaking' gravy train, along with Tony Blair etc, pays much better.

CactusFlowers · 22/10/2022 10:20

Well that’s the job of an mp so… I dunno. You are going down a rabbit hole here. I’m fairly sure he does his hours 😂

Chateaudiaries · 22/10/2022 10:30

Really? He strikes me as one of the laziest men alive.

There are 22 weeks of recess for him to take one of his many freebie hols.

itrytomakemyway · 22/10/2022 11:20

He chose to go on holiday during one of the worst political crisis of modern times. He has the money and resources to go away whenever he likes - unlike most of us it isn't a case of having to go because that was when you had it all booked. He CHOSE to go. Correct me if I am wrong but I don't believe he has been spotted in the House of Commons during the last six weeks. He has had plety of time to 'recover' from his oh so hard work during his time as PM.

He has done nothing to support his party, his constituents and this country. He has put himself first. As usual.

luckylavender · 22/10/2022 11:45

MeowMeowPowerRangers · 21/10/2022 08:31

They can still go on holiday's, just like us normal peasants can.

It's doing us a favour hopefully they won't vote him back in.

They're supposed to go on holiday when Parliament is in recess. It's quite a big window.

luckylavender · 22/10/2022 11:46

wonderstuff · 21/10/2022 08:34

I don’t understand why MPs aren’t restricted to the times parliament isn’t sitting for holidays? They seem to get similar periods away from parliament to school holidays? Although I wonder if the people of Uxbridge notice when he’s gone, can’t imagine he’s a terribly conscientious MP.

They are

FinallyHere · 22/10/2022 12:24

If only this were the worst I've ever heard about him, buts it's not even in the top ten. Or the first five pages.

And at least some people want him back, or at least think they do.

Sigh.

loudbatperson · 22/10/2022 12:33

He does absolutely fuck all for his constituents. He only ran for a seat as an MP so he could be PM, so now he isn't any longer, he cannot be bothered to even grace his constituency with his presence occasionally.

He is a twat, and I hope people remember well enough when voting next time.

daisybrown37 · 22/10/2022 12:42

I live in Uxbridge - not sure we notice any difference if he is away or here. He turns up very occasionally.

Tried to contact him one and no reply.

Wtafis · 22/10/2022 12:43

Yet these are the same bastards who fine us if we take our kids out of school

rwalker · 22/10/2022 12:46

Can’t understand why people are interested

Evidence? We've got people on this thread who say they're constituents and they don't get replies when they contact his office, never see him in the constituency. His reputation is for doing the absolute minimum he can get away with.

To get an idea of what lies behind his persona, read this - all the way through. It's not that long and it's very revealing. reaction.life/jeremy-vine-my-boris-story/
