There were also 241 MPs who did not vote.

You can see a full breakdown of the voting here- votes.parliament.uk/Votes/Commons/Division/1368

Looking at that list, I doubt any of them will feel shame, sadly. And to think some people on MN think this lot are on the side of women.

TheColorIndigo · 19/10/2022 11:35

I was pleased for a second to not see my MP on this list. However, he is on the did not vote list, which is just as bad.

Topgub · 19/10/2022 11:37

No doubt a large cross over of the same mps who vote for stopping legitimate protests

Swivellingbrat · 19/10/2022 11:40

How on Earth can you be cruel enough to support the harassment of women who are having an abortion. These are vile vile human beings.

KimmySchmitt · 19/10/2022 11:41

Can anyone explain why it looks like none of the Scottish MPs voted?

pointythings · 19/10/2022 11:43

My cowardly MP didn't vote. I hope this bill gets implemented smoothly. Women seeking legal healthcare should be able to do so peacefully.

Absolutely. The Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, is on that list.

It's only applies to England and Wales, so it's normal for SNP MP's to abstain on such issues.

FlorettaB · 19/10/2022 11:45

’An SNP spokesperson said: "Healthcare is a devolved issue and the Scottish Government is taking the necessary action to create buffer zones to protect people in Scotland, and improve access to all healthcare services for women in Scotland."’

badgermushrooms · 19/10/2022 11:46

Worth noting that the SNP MPs, including mine, abstained on this as they claim it has nothing to do with Scotland. Despite the fact that many women and girls in Scotland have to travel to England for abortions as the provision here is so piss poor.

Still waiting for our own buffer zones here, and I'm not sure we'll get them while Kate Forbes is in the cabinet.

girlmom21 · 19/10/2022 11:46

Is the PM allowed to vote? How did she not vote if she is?!

FannyCann · 19/10/2022 11:47

Thank you for posting this OP.
I'm disgusted by these MPs.

Since Roe v Wade I have been watching various developments on the abortion front, women's rights around the world are absolutely under attack and although I doubt we would see a ban in the UK there are certainly some MPs who would like to significantly reduce the time limit.

KimmySchmitt · 19/10/2022 11:48

Thank you for clarifying, I thought it might be something like that.

We have a massive issue with a nasty awful group of people claiming to be Christians setting up camp outside our biggest maternity hospital to 'protest' abortion. It's absolutely disgusting.

PeekabooAtTheZoo · 19/10/2022 11:50

I don’t think the NI parties should have been allowed to vote since to my knowledge there are no abortion clinics in NI and it only got decriminalised recently because the assembly had collapsed again. A 19 year old was literally prosecuted there two years ago for using abortion pills.

It is awful. But looking down the list, it’s the usual suspects like Rees-Mogg, Braverman and Davies. If they got voted out they’d just be shuffled into a safer seat.

Whole system is pointless and rotten.

AnneLovesGilbert · 19/10/2022 11:51

Mine rarely votes on anything so I’m pleased to see he both showed up and voted for this.

FannyCann · 19/10/2022 11:51

Pro-life groups from the USA are targeting the UK and finding a foothold in Scotland where it is already more difficult to access abortion and what's more they are being given charitable status to do so.

Anti-abortion group defends clinic after critics call advice misleading.

My Lib Dems MP up here voted aye.

EddieHowesBlackandWhiteArmy · 19/10/2022 11:55

ugh. My absolute prick of an MP who never misses a photo opportunity in a hospital and lied about being a nurse in his election propaganda clearly didn’t think was important enough to vote on. He’ll be getting another email from me.

It's happening in Scotland in a few places as well. FM has been pretty vocal about it being completely unacceptable and unwelcome and they're looking at dealing with it via legislation, thankfully.

Jackienory · 19/10/2022 11:58

Not going to list the 241 who didn’t vote then ?. Quelle surprise. !.

No agenda there, I simply can’t be arsed. It took me long enough to type out the names of the 110 “No” voters.
