I emailed my MP, explaining that it wasn't a pro life pro choice vote it was about women being able to access legal healthcare safely a long email with personal experiences etc and got this reply.

I bet they like a benefit cut as well

Gooseysgirl · 21/10/2022 18:06

No surprise to see my asshole MP (IDS) on there, looking forward to getting him ousted at next GE. Nasty piece of work who only appears in the constituency once in a blue moon.

Gooseysgirl · 21/10/2022 18:09

On the other hand the fabulous Stella Creasy our neighbouring constituency MP was instrumental in getting this passes 👏🏻

Leggingslife · 21/10/2022 18:12

So they are all pro-life and not pro-choice? Good to note for the next general election.

Gruffling · 21/10/2022 18:13

Shame on them.

More like pro harrasing women.

EcoCustard · 21/10/2022 19:13

Not surprised to see my MP’s name on there. I have no doubt if the opportunity arose to outlaw abortion he would be all for it, he has alluded to it a few times.

FannyCann · 22/10/2022 07:06

What an arde @marniemae

Agree with @Damnautocorrect
Get that out there. Maybe save it for run up to next election but than let tip with it. Local newspapers.
I'd print off sheaves if it and stick it in noticeboards at places like the library and just hand them out or put them in car windscreens or outside his constituency office. I'd be fuming. Jerk.

FannyCann · 22/10/2022 07:06

LOL that was meant to be " arse ".

FannyCann · 22/10/2022 07:07

And "let rip". Damnautocorrect indeed.

Thank you for this! I have been fuming and upset about it since. It's not even making abortions harder to get the buffer zone!! Just less traumatising agh. Am going to share far and wide need to plan how. I live in a small village in the constituency so just thinking how best to do it.

Marths · 22/10/2022 16:23

It funny that the DUP complained about the UK government legalising same-sex marriage and abortion rights in NI but voted to stop the buffer zone in England and Wales.

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 19/10/2022 12:23

I didn't even need to look to know how my MP had voted. I'm unfortunate enough to have JRM as my MP

Same here.

I have Braverman.

Tassen · 22/10/2022 17:23

I'm actually disgusted with Caroline Johnson as although she's a Consultant Paediatrician which may colour her views re women having abortions, I did hope she could have at least abstained if not voted yes for buffer zones around abortion clinics.

Abortion is a lawful medical procedure
& whatever reason a woman needs an abortion she should not have to put up with abuse from pro-lifers/force birthers on her way to her medical appointment.
Caroline Johnson has campaigned for Grantham Hospital A&E to be kept open. In my opinion that seems to be one NHS issue is important whilst the other worthless.

All those MPs who voted against buffer zones should be throughly ashamed of themselves.
I hope none of the female MPs who voted against this are never in need of an abortion.

GreenLunchBox · 29/10/2022 20:50

Anger as MP who suggested cutting abortion time limit is made Minister For Women. Maria Caulfield also voted against legalisation of abortion in Northern Ireland and was officer of pro-life group

My local tory mp is there sadly. Claire Countinho. No surprise
Not surprised to see Christopher Chope there. He didn't want upskirting to be illegal I seem to remember.

PickAnyName · 29/10/2022 21:18

Christ. They really are loathsome, aren’t they?

What is Sunak thinking? I'm actually scared as he has not fucked about. He's starting as he means to go on.

Women's Minister- a pro-life group officer

Immigration - Suella "I have a sick dream" Braverman

Environment- Fuck COP27, Ive got more important things to do (though I've got time for a cheesy photo OP at a hospital). Oh yeah, I'm also demoting the COP president and the climate minister.

Economy- I'll stick with Hunt who has promised 'eyewateringly painful' cuts

What have I missed? 😵‍💫

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 29/10/2022 21:41

I knew my useless twat of an MP would be on this list. Ive never voted for him and never will i genuinely have no idea how he keeps getting in.

The new Work and Pensions secretary sounds lovely. He thinks maternity benefits are too generous and hopes we can row back on them.

Tassen · 30/10/2022 21:03

@GreenLunchBox yes absolutely lovely NOT.

Mr Stride claimed there was "some evidence" that as maternity policies are made "more generous, the likelihood of a mother with young children returning to work diminishes."

Well somebody needs to tell the Nordic countries that they have got it completely wrong on their maternity/paternity/family policies as its obviously making their economies & standards of living absolutely awful NOT!!!
