To not change the bed sheets immediately…

... because they have a small amount of dried blood on them as my dog is in season.

My partner was furious when he realised that my Shih Tzu had left a small amount of period blood on our bedsheets. (Two dried spots, one the size of a 50p, one the size of a 20p). I was already in bed, tired having retuned from a week working away, and in the first few weeks of pregnancy.

Parter demanded that the sheets should be changed immediately, I said it would be fine til the morning, but if he wanted them changing that badly he should do it himself.

For context the dog is mine, I've had her since before we met and moved in together.

Not sure if I've set up voting or not but ...

YANBU - it's a small amount of dried blood, the sheets can be changed later or he can do it himself

YABU - that's gross, it's your dog, you should change the sheets immediately

Don't you ever move around during sex?

Well obviously. The act kind of calls for it doesn’t it?

PoseyFlump · 15/10/2022 07:47

Maybe it's a big towel 😂

mycatisannoying · 15/10/2022 07:50

I'd have done the same, OP. It's not gross when it's your own dog Grin
I am also a fellow Shih Tzu owner.

It is but I don’t really think it is anyone’s business how we have sex. lol. I found @Potat0soup ’s comment kind of rude and unnecessary.

Don’t worry @Potat0soup you don’t have to copy how we have sex. Just because we have sex with lots of crazy dildos, leather whips, crops, blond folds and sometimes restraints if we’re feeling really spicy on a towel does not mean you have to too.

PoseyFlump · 15/10/2022 08:15

@DaughterofDawn don't bite. It's no-ones business what you do. You can lie as still as a pin, who cares, if you're having a good time and a great orgasm it's all gravy.

AlwaysLatte · 15/10/2022 08:25

I couldn't be sleeping on them either but then my dogs have never even been in my bedroom. If he'd been snarky I think I'd have smiled and said 'thank you very much, that would be nice' and relocated myself to a chair while he worked. If he'd said it nicely I would have helped but yes, it is pretty grim.

Yes it is. It’s appalling. What’s wrong with getting her spayed? Ours will be straight off to the vet after one litter.

Back yard breeders - as if we haven’t enough dogs!
Rescue centres are full of them.
But flogging puppies is easy money.

Even a clean, well-cared-for dog can pick up parasites like fleas, ticks, and even mites. And those tiny pests aren’t above feasting on humans. Dogs can also transfer intestinal parasites like ringworm to their human companions

i hope your baby doesn’t develop allergies/hayfever. Pollen on dog fur agrivates this and if you’re too tired now you’ll be too tired to brush the dog out before bedtime after the baby arrives.

selfish.

Dogs can take monthly tablets to prevent parasites like fleas, ticks and worms.
Ringworm is a fungus, not a worm, but roundworm is a worm that puppies especially have unless given a regular worming routine .

PoseyFlump · 15/10/2022 09:10

Agree @oakleaffy about the backyard breeders.

@Potat0soup clearly thought it was their business. 😂😂😂

Onestepforwards2back · 15/10/2022 09:13

Blood, wee or poop on bedding should be changed immediately. Fluids from dtd(if there are any) as soon as you get up in the morning.

PoseyFlump · 15/10/2022 09:25

I know @DaughterofDawn MN is so full of spiteful comments these days, you can't say shit without someone declaring it 'vile' 😂😂

PoseyFlump · 15/10/2022 09:29

In my day vile was what you called serial killers. Now you're 'vile' just for dropping ketchup down you!

If she is pregnant they’re not being flogged. They’re being given away to friends who are eagerly awaiting their arrival. Unless she has an unfeasibly large litter there will be some very disappointed people.

PoseyFlump · 15/10/2022 11:35

What breed?

Blossomtoes · 15/10/2022 22:06

Jack Russell.

PoseyFlump · 15/10/2022 22:25

Fair enough.

I’ve slept with newborn pee and puke on my bed when exhausted , I just threw a towel over it. But i would find the blood from a dogs vag a step too far…I don’t like dogs and cats though especially in beds I think there full of germs and rub there shitty assholes over everything and it makes me feel sick…

Ew I couldn’t be doing that either. Newborn puke and piss 🤢 I’d still be changing the sheets pronto. 😂

JustAMinutePeople · 17/10/2022 16:09

Wait until the baby vomits/pees/poos into your end and you just throw a towel on it and sleep on.

Waitingfordecember · 17/10/2022 16:17

I can’t vote because neither option fit.

YABU to sleep in a bed with your dog’s blood on it (or to even have her near your bed in season 🤢).

YANBU to ask your husband to change the sheets since early pregnancy exhaustion is awful.

ZeroFuchsGiven · 17/10/2022 16:21

wtf have I just read? this is just the height of disgustingness and op you are foul.

Colderthanever · 17/10/2022 16:27

I’m afraid I’m with him, I’d not want to sleep on a bed a dog had left period blood on and I’d expect the dog owner to change them before I got in.

qpmz · 17/10/2022 16:31

So your partner doesn't change bed sheets? Ever?

Lacey247 · 17/10/2022 16:32

I think this is disgusting (may be different for dog lovers but I am not one) and I would’ve changed the sheets immediately. If you aren’t so bothered about it then I’d suggest he do it himself.

Get your bitch spayed asap.
